My computer is about to kick the bucket...any recommendations for a new one?

Yes, I think I worked it to death. :( the letters are worn off the keys even.

Time for new and better.

I am on PC, thinking about switching all to MAC. My daughter is getting new one for her birthday-should I get us both the same either PC or MAC?

any advice? Thanks, much appreciated!

Get a MAC, you'll never go back

Ive heard many great things about Macs but I'm kinda used to working with a PC myself. Are you thinking about getting a laptop or a desktop, I bought a HP laptop a few months back, no problems yet, I dont think I will ever own/buy another desktop.

Just burned up my VAIO laptop a few weeks ago and went with another VAIO. Almost went MAC but wimped out. Go for the MAC!

It doesn't matter that your use to working with a PC.

You will sit down at a Mac and know exactly what to do.

Mac is the way to go. you won't regret it.

macbook pro. done and done.

get a 30" monitor / keyboard / mouse for at the office and ur set.

it takes 3-4 hardcore days to make a full switch and I mean come away more productive then ever.

the Apple store will also transfer all your files from your pc to a new mac free of charge.

go with a PC and install OSX on it before you even think of overpaying for a mac. I gave it a WEEK and it still slowed me down too much.

I liked Ubuntu FAR more. I survived over a month with ubuntu and couldn't make it a week on mac. Ended up with windows 2k8 and Vista double boot for my main system. My ubuntu system ended up as my server after being my main OS for a month. I ended up building a new system and just decided to give Vista another shot....

Lori you gotta go with a mac
with all the problems you have with a pc and shit just not working a mac will really suit you

just get some time at the instore genius bar and have the mac guru help you learn what you will need to do what you do.

If you are going to buy a Mac, wait for a bit. Apple should be updating their macbook lineup soon.
I am also in the market for a laptop, I'm still undecided. I worked for around 6 months on a mac and there were some great things that made me more productive but there were also certain things that slowed me down greatly.

I'm thinking of getting either a Lenovo SL500 or a Vaio.
I want a good laptop that will be good enough for some gaming every now and then.

Any recommendations?

I love my Mac, but their desktops don't make much sense for the average user. I just bought a Quad Core with Vista for $750 or so and it has better specs than the Mac Pro I bought a few months back for more than 3 times the price.

I'm tempted to installed the hacked OSX on it to play around.

Get a Macbook Lori. Easy to switch over from PC.

As often as you travel, I would definitely recommend a laptop of some sort.

We have two of the 21'' here and they hold up well with the Mac Pro actually. The iMac is probably the best and most underrated machine that Apple puts out at this point.
