anyone got the Sony Bravia 52-Inch 1080p LCD

I am looking for a new tv for my house and was wondering if anyone here had the

Sony Bravia W-Series KDL-52W4100 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

and what you thought about it?

Nikki_Licks 09-12-2008 08:00 AM

Saw one the other day and it blew us away. The definition is unreal. That is about all I can tellya :winkwink:

Pete-KT 09-12-2008 08:21 AM

Thanks Nikki, see you in ATL?

Ravage 09-12-2008 09:16 AM

Probably the best bang for the buck right now for a 120hz TV. Picture quality seems to be better than its Samsung rival, the a650.
The only tech difference between the two is the a650, is the ethernet capability, which really, isn't that great of a feature right now, and a few more options to customize picture, etc.

Pete-KT 09-12-2008 09:29 AM

I dont like the quality ive seen on the samsung pictures

Just had a 46" lcd go bad. Probably the lamp which will cost 200-300 to fix. Sucks it is only 1.5 years old. Going to shop for a bedroom tv as well when I buy the lamp.

no, but my mission is to get one!! The picture quality is unreal everything so crystal clear. It also has a 3D feature!! I watched casino royale on it. It made it even better!

I got the 46" one.

Watching movies on an LCD sucks. (ghosting/jittering on high paced scenes is pretty bad).

If you watch a lot of movies i'd try plasma instead.

pornguy 09-12-2008 10:25 AM

I have a 37 LG LCD, and it is freaking awesome. Movies Blueray everything.

NickPapageorgio 09-12-2008 10:26 AM

I have the 32" Sony Bravia here in my office that I use as my monitor. I love it. =]

maalox 09-12-2008 10:38 AM

It's good for watching regular TV and playing games, but it kinda sucks when watching movies.

:2 cents:

I bought a 50" Panasonic plasma for 1100 from circuit city. Fuck paying more then that for any TV

Poppy 09-12-2008 10:59 AM

Got it and love it. Had it calibrated too, so it is easier on the eyes and will add lifetime to it.

B2BwithJoeD 09-12-2008 11:40 AM

Thanks for the feedback -

After reading all this I think I'll try the 46" :)

Sosa 09-12-2008 12:40 PM

How are the action movies etc on the newer 120Hz models?

Nad 09-12-2008 02:06 PM

Pete-KT 09-13-2008 07:08 AM

Thats the best one to buy, you get a big ass dicount and then you buy the extra warrent and as soon as it goes bad you get a brand new tv from them

My neighbor bought a Plasma about 5 years ago when they first became a big thing, he has always kept the warrenty on it from the store he bought it from, The other day the picture started getting a little dull and he called them, Instead of commingo ut to fix it because when he bought it he paid 8,000 they overnighted hima new tv and told him to throw the old one away, so he took the old one to his cottage and now has 2 60" plsmas
