What's keeping you organized?
I assume many of you (like me) run many
(unrelated) projects. How do you keep up with things? a simple to do list? online management system? PDA's? |

|
for financial compromisses I use MS-Money
for keep control of the projects I use the old and confiable paper folder and my small, old and no-subject to be formated agenda :) |
my programmers have postits all over the office too, but it's in Thai.... im almost certain some of them say 'DUMB WHITEBOY' and ' DOWN WITH WHITEY' but this can't be verified
|
I use Reminders.txt :) It's pretty fucking cluttered with stuff but it does the job

Rubberbands and tape, lots of hair gel and 420. oh, and a computer. :thumbsup
|
I rely solely on my own memory.

A good staff at work and a good wife at home is all I need to keep organized :)

I just leave notes to myself in what I'm working on prefixed with FIXME or WORKING (working for "I left of here" type stuff and fixme, for I know it's not perfect, but I need to do something else)
Of course, I don't have that many non-code related things to do. egrep -r -C 4 -H "(FIXME|WORKING)" * |
:1orglaugh
C'mon i need some hardcore stories about PDA's linked to CRM databases synced worldwide with integrated ticket-systems or something... It seems like the whole board relies on what-to-do.txt (beside markerboards).. "Notepad.. the choice of an adult generation.." This can't be true.. |
handspring visor platinum and outlook

I don't really ever forget anything thats important, but for things that need to be done and I need certain infomation to complete it, I send myself an email.
I learnt to have shit loads of folders in my email client and keep a maximum of 20 mails in my inbox. I used to have 1000's of mails in my inbox, now when it arrives its deleted, put in a folder or kept in inbox until it is actioned. Makes life better for me anyway. |

QuickBooks
MS Excel and NOTEPAD no more papers just bunch of notepad files |
Well I have a great system that I sure beats everyone else here.
I have a (Real) notepad with 20 pages full of shit I should do now/should do in the future/ shit I could do in the future/ random ideas/ great porn quotes to use on websites/ lists of my paysites, content ideas/ random phonenumbers, all that is listed in my notepad and on ripped out pieces of paper from that notepad, the ripped out ones are the important ones. Pretty hightech shit eh? I really don't think a PDA could ever compete :) I just do what works for me. As long as your productive and making loads of cash its all good baby ;-) Sammy |
