For Those Who've Tried PPC w/ Paysites, A Question
My stats, to me, look very good up until the customer makes his way to the join page of the paysite. My site has a 2-3% CTR, I send roughly 40% of my traffic to the paysite from my landing page, and roughly 95% click through to the join page...all in all I am able to send approximately 1 in 2-2.5 visitors from the landing page of my site to the join page for the paysite.
The problem is that NO ONE is signing up. Does this seem odd to you or have you experienced the same problem? I've sent nearly 140 people to the page, all cardholders, all aware of the site price, and all have sampled the content and have still chosen to click 'Join Now.' What I'm wondering is that if you have had trouble converting paysites via PPC, where did it seem that most of your traffic was losing interest - inbetween the landing page and clicking over to the paysite, inbetween the paysite main page and the join page, or what? Just interested in your personal experiences. P.S. I'm using Adwords (and I'm well aware of other PPC companies, so don't spam me.) Thanks, c-lo |
Denials? Regions that can't be billed? XSales scaring people away?
Post up the join price in the ad / join link so that you don't waste $ on people that have no intention of paying. |
Thanks for the feedback, tical. Unfortunately I already have the price in the ad and I am only targeting English-speaking customers located in the U.S. Also I don't see any cross-sales on the join page...
Any other tips, similar experiences, etc? Looking for all the info I can get. |
Did you say you sent 140 people to the join page? Is that total?
You can send 5 times that much and never get a sign up, then the next day get 3 sign ups from 5 clicks. You need to send a bit more traffic. |
Yeah, my keywords are fairly low volume...so that's over a 3 day span. Maybe I'm jumping the gun a little...just seems like I should have had a conversion or two by now at least.
Thanks for the advice, Jim. |

other than that... just have to wait it out. is there anything on the join page that you think could hinder the buy? most sponsors will let you use your own join page if you're doing biz w/ them already... just have to ask only other thing i can think of is that surfers still think they're going to get more free stuff when they click the join now link - but that is the way most of these freeloaders are :) |
could be a couple of things honestly. ive do a lot of PPC stuff myself with AdWords and Yahoo for adult sites and sometimes sites just dont convert that well.
in some cases im getting a better join rate through gallery submissions then through PPC. either way, if you want some help, hit me up tomorrow |

As was said, go over your join page to look for anything that might be hurting conversions. Study some successful sites and compare. Good Luck. |
Good tips, everyone.
I'll keep an eye peeled for peak times, and try to tweak my text for maximum ROI. Right now my budget is $30/day for this campaign, but it's not a big niche so I can't even spend that much without targeting too broadly. I'll be checking out some successful sites as you stated, Jim. I have a bit of traveling to do tomorrow, but I will try to contact you asap, bossku. |
Shit, I think the pre-checked cross sales might be doing it. I just noticed it on the join page after the username/password creation.
I didn't think Pimproll did that...that'll teach me to not look so closely. You have to scroll down past the join button to see the $70 or so in charges they're about to make. :( I think I know most of the Adwords tricks in general, but if anyone has any tips pertaining to paysite promotion or adult PPC campaigns that they don't mind sharing, hit me up ASAP.
