How many of you have a PS2...
Do any of you have a PS2 and have problems with it? Seems like after awhile after owning it it fucks up just like the original one did. Mine used to load the game immediately and now it takes awhile when it even does. And mine at first had problems reading DVDs, which it still does. But now it's doing it with PS2 games.
I know it isn't just mine because a few of my friends are doing the same thing. I'm just curious if maybe it was just something that could be coincidental because we all bought ours around the same time in the same area. |
Mine has been making funny noises when reading games lately, but not movies. Kind of odd.

Yah, mine is doing noises too. I'm debating whether or not to go buy a new one and then return my old one in it. I tried that once with an old PS and they had switched the RFU adapter switch. I ended up calling Toys R Us back saying I put the wrong switch back in, that I put my Nintendo one in there or something, if there was any way I could come back and exchange it. After putting me on hold for about 15-20 minutes the kid comes back on the phone and said that he knew what I did and he would let me get away with it, but I should of been smart enough to check that out. :Graucho

Stuff like that tends to happen to electronic stuff with moving parts eventually... it's a pity but it's what happens :thumbsup
Unless you go back to cartridge based systems, but man are they a bitch to get working once the dust has attacked... |

That's one of those ports I plug my keyboard into, right? Yeah, I have one. :thumbsup

ps2's break quicker if you smoke around them and also you're not supposed to put it right on the floor.

I had a lot of problems with my Ps2 and most of it happened not long after I got it. You will notice the Ps2 has trouble with the Blue discs which are CD-Rom, they play at 24X.
The main problem with the Blue discs is, for some reason they damage the spindle and the optic within the Ps2. The Normal silver discs are Dvd-Rom, and run at 4X. Most of my problems came from having the Ps2 on the Vertical stand, I had the thing on the stand for only a few days. And it was scratching the shit out of my games, not to mention making some not so funny noises. Anyway I got myself an Xbox and haven't had any crap with it YET!!! |
Mine is really sensitive to scratched games even if they are slightly scratched. Renting games is totally out.

mine made problems from the beginning.
