I'd say it sold for that price based on who was selling it moreso than what the domain was. If it was just some nobody whos thread got pushed to the sell and buy forum, it never would of sold for more than a couple hundred dollars.

I have to be honest and say that has never entered my mind when apprasing the value of a domain.

Who owns the domain doesn't effect the value of a domain but the value of a domain vs what a domain sells for often isn't equal.
