I mean they really do a hell of a job.

For a long time it's all been Obama, Obama Obama and now people are getting a little: "yeah yeah we know what you want".

McCain's Sphinn Doctors used Palin in the most beautiful way I have seen in a long time. Hell they even got Danish Newspapers printing it will be bad for McCain.

Bad for McCain? No fucking way in hell it will. It is what is going to win this election for him.

The vast majority of the electors do not have the brain capacity to see through a well conducted spin. They will see this as a proof of McCain beeing a man who does not pack away a lady like Palin because of her daughter having a baby. That is a strong signal to send.

The votes that he indangers by chosing Palin is the most extreme Republicans and no fucking way in hell they will even consider voting for Obama anyhow, and they will not vote blank either as they will do everything they can to make sure Obama does not get elected.
However by chosing Palin he hits a large portion of people who think he is too cynical and just another Bush.

That is a truely beautiful spin.

I might add I would vote for Obama if I were an American.

I've been thinking this for the past month or so. I am really shocked at how much of Obama's coverage they have been able to eat up.

Republicans run better campaigns than Democrats. They understand the lack of intellect of the public and use it to their advantage. The Dems should hire up some of those guys.

the 15 minutes is almost up

The Obama ppl have to get their message out, and straighten out misleading statements. After the RNC one would think that the Iraq war is almost won. If won means having insurgents on the payroll, if instability in the ME means won, if Iran being stronger than ever means won, if breaking up of Iraq into ethnic factions means won, then yeah we're winning.

They have to put to rest the "surge" factor in Iraq as well. All the above have caused the 80% decrease in violence which was a trend that started 2 years ago. The 30,000 extra troops atop the 100k+ troops was just icing on the cake.

The bridge to nowhere core of Palin's drumbeat campaign is also a falsehood.

But let's face it, Palin is the media darling right now. She's female and she's hot.

McCain's lead dropped slightly today. Maybe it'll get another bump after Palin's 1st interview depending on how that goes.

I don't think there's ever been a more interesting election and everybody will be tuning into the debates.

Republican extremists running the election are, in the final analysis, idiots.

Phony outrage and crocodile tears over what amounts to a relevant, applicable and appropriate use of a well-known phrase.. lame.

Oh oh, imagine if he'd said "you can lead a horse to water..." oh boy, the outrage.

The public doesn't care about issues. They care about stupid catchphrases and one-liners. Obama can talk issues all he wants but the average American is going to vote because they heard a story about how one of the candidates eats moose burgers.

Mccain has to run on the bullshit because he has nothing else. Its going to be the same and look where the same has gotten us.

According to Obama the war in Iraq is almost over. His plan is the exact same as Bush's. With almost the exact same time table.

Leading up to the Democratic Party convention all we heard was "Obama, Obama, Obama!".

Immediately after the Deomcratic Party convention all we heard was "OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!".

Ever since the Republican convention, all eyes and ears are focused on Palin.

Palin, the nice looking hockey mom. Not quite Hilllary, but still, a woman one seat away fro the big chair! How exciting! Maybe McCain isn't so stuffy?

Oh, and those terribe Democrats beating up on the poor mom and her retarded baby. At least her family is strong, and when god wanted her daughter to have a child, they were there to support the new life as per God's plan!

Sure, she's made some mistakes, but to forgive is Christian! What good a good Christian Palin is! Jesus died for her sins too, you know!

As for that other guy, I don't trust him, looks kind of shifty and keeps mumbling the same word over and over. I better check my wallet just to be sure!

Sure, but he could at least dumb down his message and co-opt catchphrases the same way the "change" mantra was co-opted from him by McCain.

The Palin pic was genius. Whether it will cost or win the election remains to be seen. I think she'll be able to hold her own. It's the national stage now, but she's obviously a very adept politician.

I'm not sure if his position is that Iraq is almost won, or that the US needs to get out to compel Iraqis to take control of their own government and future.


Obama could make a similar case. He came from essentially a broken/eccentric home but has led a clean family life of his own. A complete nuclear home, wife and kids, the Christian way.

Palin could be a 15-minutes of fame syndrome that is so common in America or she could prove to be a force for many years to come. Only time will tell.
