One of the worse things I ever did!

I worked in a place where one of the customers left an item that I would value
to be over $200 maybe as high as $500.

The owner of the place found it and showed it to me after we closed.
He said "I'm keeping this, it's just what I wanted. Don't tell anyone you saw it."

I couldn't believe I was hearing that. Of course the customer is going to come
back to look for it the next day.

Sure enough, the customer comes back and asked me if I had seen the item.
I said no.

Guess I thought I'd be fired if I said the owner had it.

The owner could easily buy this shit himself so it makes no sense on any level
I can think of.

I think I should have told the customer about his item and quit at that point.
I ended up getting into an argument one day with a manager over a different issue and
quit the job anyway.

The taking of the customers item was a sign that I was working in a really shitty place
and I should have known that I wouldn't keep working there much longer.

No business ever kept anything I accidently left there in my whole life.

I fucked up by not standing up for that customer.

Lol. That's true.. I've been racking my brains to see what I could put down to top that I'd be happy to tell anyone. :winkwink:

What was the item ??

LauraLee 09-10-2008 08:28 AM

The fact that you still remember the incident, and how bad your choice left you feeling tells me you have a decent heart.

Sometimes we don't speak up and wish we had. Life is a learning process.

Think about why I didn't say what the item was or where the place was.

At least you regret about it!

I always wondered where the hell my favorite dildo wound up.
now I know.
but not to worry, I have new one.
you didn't touch that thing did you?
I have herpes.
maybe you should get tested.
can't be too careful.

That was too valuable and hence the reason why the owner got interested. Anyway, good thing you've realized what place you have lured on. Congrats on quitting! :winkwink:
