So what's the scoop on redirecting traffic? Is it cool all around, or are there rules to it?

For instance, can you blindly redirect traffic to a site you're trading with? Can you send 404 traps?

What's accepted and what's considered lame?

What's so secret about it? I just want to know what's accpeted and what's not so I'm not breaking any traffic rules.

I get a ton of 404 traffic, but I wasn't sure if that was cool to blindly redirect out to other galleries, tgps, and sponsors.
