Anybody play Spore?
 

I had it given to be as a gift last night. I haven't had time to install it yet but anybody else here played it yet?

i was gonna pick it up yesterday but it is 70 :-/
dontknow if i really wanna pay 70 for osmething that im sure ill get bored with in a day

at end you go to space and explore million of stars so it's never ending game :)

An unemployed friend of mine recently got it and he's got to the space section of the game already, I have a copy but hav'nt got round to even installing it yet looks good though,like black and white crossed with civ !

Just got Mercs 2 so been occupied with that and work recently.

I'm tempted to get it, but don't know whether I can pull myself away from Football Manager 08 enough to make it worthwhile.. FM09 is out soon as well....

I have sold a few copies and put one aside for personal use. I think my girlfriend has it installing on right now.

I bought it and installed it but now I just need to find the time to hit the start button.. ^^
It sounds very interesting but I heard that the gameplay is too simple.

I got it Sunday when it came out. It is incredibly fun! While the game isn't "deep" in terms of like skill tree or story it is EXTREMELY broad in terms of flexibility. I am on the space stage at this point as well right now and it seems like the game could go on forever.... Well looks like I need to go take over the galaxy... PEACE!

Yea. I LOVED B&W sooooo much.
I saw spore and almost bought it. But knowing me ill get bored of it so quick and it's a tad pricey.

I have never heard of it, what kind of game is it?

It must not be all that pricey here because as much as I love my husband and it was a sweet gift there is no way he would have paid big bucks for it. Must have been a sale..lol

Well, I just came across a species called 'Shemp'.

The game is actually only $49.99, but if you want the galaxy edition which has a pile of extras, it's $79.99, so other than the extras, the game is the same (as far as I know).

I did buy the game, but am waiting to make sure it's good before I open it up and install it :) From what I see here and other places, it seems like a worthwhile game, so I'll probably rip it open and get it going.

By Maxis, looks like another Sim City...

I've played it a little bit. Been anticipating it for years. Pretty cool, but somewhat disappointing. I'm only in the second stage, but the first and second stages seem to lack depth. I would have liked to see more stuff in the first stage. Still pretty cool, even though the DRM sucks big time. Yeah, reminds me of Black and White too.

Nathan got Spore the other day. He swears he's "not that into it" but he sat and played it for about 14 hours straight. His spore is now a fully upright walking creature with spikes and skills, he evolved it millions of years within a couple of days. If I were into video games, I'd probably like this one. Try it out :-)

I can't enjoy anything like a game anymore...

I just got to the tribal stage and not exactly sure what I am doing there yet. I think it is the kind of game you don't get that into (so he is right) but that you can have running along side of you while you work and dip in and out of. It is a bit like the Sims on that. For me that is a dip in and out game too.

Played around a little with the Spore Creature Maker for the PC. It's free.

Now I finally actually played the game and frankly if the creatures weren't funny and it wasn't cool to explore the world, the game would suck. It lacks depth extremely severely. There's no excuse for even the first 2 two stages to be so simple so I think I'll get bored with it quickly.

Yeah, I think it is a game I will play for a week or so which is fine. It did give me a difficulty level choice but I am not sure what difference there is between them.

Best not put that on Sims 3 based on the number of times I have had to delete and install Sims2 over the years.

I doubt that I will install Spore more than three times. I am in space now and I don't know if there is much more to go.

I need something to replace World Of Warcraft.

I do not think Spore is it, did some thinking about it but the demo was to "Cutsie", its definatly a girls game.

I like killing and blowing shit up and I am definatly on the look out for something better or different than World Of Warcraft yet similer. LIke a sci fi version of it or something I dunno.

Well, Maxis has made big bucks making things that appeal to girls. There are two paths you can go. You can be aggressive or social and I bet a lot of us women take the social path.

Yeah, I actually have to agree with the reviews. After being on the fence for trying it and then seeing that people on here were liking it, I went out and picked it up and gave it a try. I have to say, I'm not enjoying it so far:(

Well, I am not exactly a gamer and I am nearly finished with it. It has cute moments but the space part is kind of boring me. The bit when you climb out of the ooze and the tribe bit is probably the best part.
