Is Comus Pretty Much Done?

I'm curious if comus is pretty much finished cause I've been going to their forum and not seeing much activity and seeing people's questions not answered. Wondering if I should go with that other script tgpx (or whatever it's called). Does that one score click on thumbs with a vote like comus or is it just a standard rotation?

Jens Van Assterdam 09-08-2008 03:42 PM

Id recommend TGP-X. Its a great script :thumbsup

Deej 09-08-2008 03:47 PM

TgpX is a great script - Jmbsoft.com is a great resource.

Easy for the newcomer and Very efficient for the veteran!

Dennis Rodman 09-08-2008 03:47 PM

Comus is shot. Dead script as of at least a year ago if not longer. Someone told me the guy was suicidal that wrote it (Although that is heresay).

If you're not using smart-thumbs, you're missing out.

Off subject, what happened to statsremote? Is that piece of shit still updated regularly?

smutnut 09-08-2008 03:55 PM

Thanks for the feed back. I always thought comus was cream at the top but something seemed funny and I don't want to pay for the full license if they are that fucked up. I'll look into these others.

Any links? And how about traffic scripts? Are they easily intergrated with anything special like comus was trying. I'm used to using cjoverkill.

Stay away from Choker if you use CJO, guy absolutely HATES and blacklists any site that uses that script... long story, i'm sure someone will entertain you with it some day. :2 cents:

I you want to go tgp/mgp than our Smart Thumbs is great! runs happily on over 14.000 sites now..

If you are into multi-category/tube type sites go with our new script STXT.

Could you give 3 good reasons to use Smart Thumbs over TGP X?

It's a rather big price difference, so I'm wondering what you offer that they don't :2 cents:

That's interesting because I have two sites waiting to be approved using that script so they probably won't be, but they were approved by traffic trader so I'll probably use them.

Yeah, they're still pending and it's been almost 48 hours so i'll probably delete them.

Thanks for the info.

Tony is one of the coolest people I've known in this business. He took my site added his Comus to it and physically tweaked it for 2 days and took my little 5K a day black TGP and got it up to over 50K a day in just a few days.

In the black market back then, that was unheard of. I was so big I was killing smaller TGP's by accidentally sending them too many hits. The little sites were doing everything to return the hits, that their other trades would suffer and the sites would die.

Comus was amazing back when I was doing TGP's.

I like vanilla tgp.

LeRoy 09-09-2008 10:02 AM

That sux. I am currently mapping some sites out.

I was thinking comos thumbs since I have seen one guy with a no ref link on his siggy here.

Guess I'll look elsewhere :(

Mike Tyson used to be pretty good in his day too.

I actually started trying out another host just to use comus and everything works fine, but have you seen their forum lately. One guy has been trying to get some support for a week straight and then some guy finally shows up today and says the entire crew had been on vacation. That's pretty fucking weak.

I'm probably going with tgpx. I like what they seem to offer from what I can understand at this point. I figure instead of wasting an entire hosting account I'll give them a shot.

I just need to find a decent traffic trading script in addition to cjoverkill in case I want to use choker

P.S. I forgot to add he actually paid for a license. I'd be fucking pissed!

Don't fall too much into the "Microsoft mesh".
That's when you expect small teams of 1 to 5 programmers to give the kind of support
that microsoft can.

Microsoft is not interested in providing software that only a few
thousand people use so you have to expect a single programmer doing all the support
in this industry. This may change in the future, but it will come with a hefty price increase for adult software.

In fact, it's quite a shitty business for (most) programmers in this industry.
Most of us can double our income if we just put on coats and ties and worked "down town" for Shearson-Lehman-Harriman-rockefeller-bache corp. :1orglaugh

PS : Use choker's Turbo traffic trader instead of the CJO thingy.

I have known and worked with Tony since before there was Comus thumbs, back even before Jim and Tony started working together. CT is a good script. There are some good people over there, IF you can find them.

With that said,

I wouldn't count on Tony for *anything*, he's been flaking for a long time now. I wouldn't spend any money with him before you contact someone who's willing to give you support.

CT has many holes in it, many dead links, links that go to the wrong place and many things that were started under re-development that were hacked apart and then just walked away from.

The script is great, The developer is .. well, don't try to get ANYTHING from Tony.

I almost wish sometimes that I was using something else, but WTH, I have a license. Even though CT has chosen "dagger in the heart" licensing. If Tony goes away, your script and your licenses do too.

JMHO,

YP

Comus is dead to me! Just like Tony Sopranos' mom and his Uncle Junior.

Here's my next big question (maybe I'll start a new thread). What are the best trade scripts for TGPx and Smart Scripts, or is their stuff built in.

I don't want to continue with cjoverkill at this time due to what "the shark" said in this thread. I won't lose them on my other sites, but just want to see how something else works out.

Thanks, peoples :thumbsup

Hey Smutnut... I have limited experience with trade scripts, but I do use the TM3 script and I like it. www.tgpsoftware.com

Anyway, check it out.

MrAwesome 09-10-2008 11:25 AM

Klen 09-10-2008 11:26 AM

You know what, I see a lot wrong in that.

The entire reason I'm even giving a shit about this now was because of comus, but they actually did me a favor because I'm finding out about these other scripts that may be just as good if not better.

HorseShit 09-10-2008 11:39 AM

for a nice trade script go with atx, and the 2.0 version is coming out end of year i think, at least it's still being updated regularly

You know what, I totally respect you. You helped me out in my petty cash with thurbs.

But isn't it insane that they (comus people) went off for a vacation and left no one behind to answer questions in the comus forum?

That "some guy" was me and that post was made to kick us all into high gear.

We have plans for Comus and the first of them is re-writing the script from the ground up.
