anyone here dispute a paypal charge on an auction item?

been 25 days since I bought a phone off ebay, no contact with seller, went to file a dispute on paypal, says it can take up to 30 days or more. Has anyone here gone thru the process and did it take you 30+ days?

Thanks

It can take 30 days if the seller disputes the request and gives a good reason. ie if they did send the item but you claim you didn't get it, that will get investigated, but if they ignore the dispute often your money will be back within your account within a week or 2 but rarely. Consider Paypal is a lot like a bank in that they don't want to rush to put money back into yours or the sellers account ... the funds come out of the sellers account not long after you dispute the transaction but you don't get them back for 30 or more days.

My suggestion would be to file the dispute right now to avoid wasting any more time ... you never know, the seller might give it back right away ... if not at least the 30 days starts counting down from now.

File a dispute and escalate the claim right away...

Moves things along a lot quicker..

Escalating the claim right away is not a good idea...

Look. I told you, I mailed the penis pump and anal lube....err..."phone" already. It must have gotten lost, I'll check the tracking number again!
