Shiiiiit! For Buffalo to win the Dolphins, the Jets and 27 other teams in the NFL including the patriots have to fucking die in plane crashes and then there's still no gaurantee!

Mutt 09-07-2008 03:34 PM

the rumor on the Net so far is that Brady has a torn ACL and will be gone for the season

if that's true i'm really not happy about it - winning because some other team's best player is hurt taints it. it's like the Houston Rockets winning the NBA championships the 2 years that Michael Jordan 'retired' to play baseball. Tainted.

Yet Danny Bonaduce continues to make awful remarks on VH1 shows throughout the perpetuity of the universe..

It doesn't matter. They will still win and roll deep in the playoffs, if not The SB.

Brady is overrated, the result of a great system.

And great receivers and tight ends. That Wes Welker guy is amazing.

Yeah, he's overrated. He's only the only QB to win 3 superbowls in the 21st Century, so I guess the team itself is just that awesome. God, what the hell does it take for the Patriots to get some respect. They have to win ten in a row the entire decade the way Buffalo lost 4 in a row?

Mutt 09-07-2008 04:20 PM

if Brady is gone for a season then it will be a great test of Bellichick's system and go a long way in answering the 'is it Brady?' or 'is it Bellichick?' question as to who is the bigger factor in the Patriots dynasty. Obviously it's both - they have been a perfect fit - but I don't think the Patriots and Bellichick would have achieved what they have without Brady or somebody of his caliber. Bellichick's genius is overrated - with an average QB which 3/4's of the NFL teams have he wouldn't be winning Super Bowls - he'd get a team with an average QB into the playoffs and that's it.

Think about what you just said.

I think it will be a huge blow to the pats

Look, as bad as Bledsoe's reputation became, he was actually a great player when he started out. Belichick wouldn't have let him go without seeing what Brady had. Like it or not, Brady is the present day Montana.

And whether or not you want to admit it or use a process of elimination because every other team in the league and other players are so bad, that's entirely up to you. If you want to find someone overrated look at Peyton Manning. The guy was supposed to win a superbowl every year since he came in to the league and finally pulled off one because the Patriots were stacked with rookies and key injuries.

I'll admit one thing. I won't be the least bit surprised if they pull the season off with Matt Cassel. Don't forget who he was and where he came from and how he's going to be mentored now.

Okay, I'll be a little surprised, but still... There might be some slight reasoning to the way you're thinking.

I hate the Patriots but I have to admit that Brady is the best QB of all time. He showed last year what he can do with a full slate of offensive weapons. Watching him play is something spacial. It is a shame to see him go down. :(

Having said that..... fuck the Patriots!!!!!!!

CDSmith 09-07-2008 05:34 PM

At least we can all agree that it wasn't a malicious play, right?

Right?

Btw, going with the word "Awsome" in the title probably wasn't the smartest choice. It's in pretty poor taste to be happy about or otherwise cheer over an injured player, no matter how serious the injury is. Even if it sends the player out for only that one game do people really think that one "win" would be complete?
