too funny, AIM session with my mom

Here is a conversation I just had with my mom who a stock broker:

Is there anyway to determine where an email originated from?
MOM
puremeds: yeah, why?
puremeds: you getting spam
Edited: No spam. Just a goofy email that I am sure is a joke about laundering money for a foreigner. I am trying to decide if I need to report it to my broker dealer.
puremeds: haha, everyone gets that email
puremeds: what they want your bank account #
puremeds: some guy in africa
Edited: Well, being in financial services we are highly regulated about such things and need to report it. It is just that it is so funny that it is hard not to believe it is just a joke.
puremeds: that is the oldest spam in the book, forward it to me and it wont do you any good to report it

There was an article in the Vancouver Sun of some poor local ass that got sucked into that scam. I can't believe people actually are dumb enough to respond to that crap.

A former employeer of mine actually fell for that scam. He had an MBA from Harvard. He even went so far as to fly to Nigeria to meet with someone. When he returned, he refused to talk about what happened to him over there.
