NoCal Vs. SoCal

Allot of webmasters from Cali, North and South.

Who's from where and why do you like it?

Me myself have been in the North bay all my life. Besides the hight cost of living I would not want to live anywhere else.

SoCal is to loud and dirty for me, I like the fresh air up here.
San Diego would be the only place south of San Fran. where I Would want to live.

What about everyone else?

jreaka 10-29-2002 12:13 PM

WTF?

No one from Cali today?

ColKurtz 10-29-2002 12:14 PM

I'm in san diego but thinking of moving to florida. Everything is too expensive here. High state income tax, high sales tax, and high everything else.

Too expensive? Make more sales!

You couldn't drag me out of San Diego. Although these damn ants are sure trying...

ColKurtz 10-29-2002 12:25 PM

Just planning out my options. Thats the great thing about getting money from the internet, we can live wherever the hell we want and not have to give a shit about finding a job, local economies, etc.

I guess I'm just sick of the california govt raping me. On top of all their other bullshit, I was looking into starting an LLC, and cali wants 800 dollars a year just to have that business formation.

And, paying 1,000 a month for a nothing special apartment gets old.

Incorporate in Nevada.

Which part of town do you live in?

ColKurtz 10-29-2002 12:32 PM

Mission Valley, like a couple miles from the stadium.

My new roomie was just living down there, expensive as hell. He was in a three room and his share was $750.

No shit!!!

I pay 1150 a month for a 2 bedroom duplex with a small back yard........but what are you going to do?

All of my family and all the wife's family live here.

California used to be a great place to live. It's going, going, gone downhill. Overcrowded. I was born here in LA and love it still sometimes--but fuck it, I'm out in the next year or two.

hottoddy 10-29-2002 01:40 PM

I'm in southern Orange County (Laguna Niguel), and it's pretty similar to the nicer areas in San Diego.

There are still nice parts in LA, but they're getting harder to find.

I also love the Bay Area, but could also live anywhere along the Central Coast - Santa Barbara to Monterey.

Rich J. 10-29-2002 01:43 PM

I'm from Santa Cruz and will always consider NoCal my home... Its funny because when you get outside of Cali everyone thinks its all the same there but NoCal and SoCal are 2 totally different worlds.

Hey me too ~ West side.
That's the kind of place I couldn't really live now, it was hard enough as a kid. I'd say the culture there is totally different from any other Nor Cal area, but it's still a great place to visit.

I'm in Los Angeles, and I agree it's getting worse every year. Too many people, too many cars... fuck there are traffic jams at 2 am on the 405 sometimes. It's crazy.

Traffic jams at 2 A.M?

Shit at 2 A.M where i am from the only thing on the road are cops!!!

UncleJimmy 10-29-2002 03:06 PM

I was born and raised in "The Valley", but fuck that noise, it's too dirty and crowded for me. I visit my fam there from time to time but I just couldn't tolerate that anymore.

I agree that the air anywhere from San Luis county north is clean and worthy of breathing...

San Diego is nice, but I'm sure it'll 'dirty' up some more in the next few years....

Clean air is 'not' overrated...

RobBuxxx 10-29-2002 03:14 PM

OC for life!!! rated number one over all place in america to live last year by TIME mag or some shit. i am in Orange, Orange County. the rent sucks....$950 for a 1 bedroom upstairs with a tiny balcony...oh yea there was a shooting on my street last year, some guy ogt hunted down and shot 5 times. but aside from that OC is cool, i grew up in yorba linda so that was like a little beverly hills. you cant beat OC living in newprt, the women are amazing and the atmosphere is cool. the only other place in california i would live in would be the bay area....when i make more $$$$ i am there.

-=HOAX=- 10-29-2002 03:37 PM

You seriously couldn't live there now? I would go back in 2 seconds if I thought I could get a job in Net Marketing there. There's this other stupid guy from the board named HOAX or something that lived there for awhile as well. :Graucho

Damn I miss Cali. Canada is wicked but the cold is a bitch when you've lived in Cali. your whole life.

cold_ice 10-29-2002 03:50 PM

So Cal here and would not want it any other way. Cali is tha bomb, always something going on. Does not matter what part of cali it is it beats living anywhere else.

Morgan 10-29-2002 03:56 PM

I grew up in So Cal (Newport Beach), moved up to Berkeley (in Nor Cal) and lived there for 3 years. I missed the hot chicks, good weather, Hot beaches and clean streets so I moved back here to Newport Beach where I could live the rest of my life!

SNOW 10-29-2002 04:07 PM

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ALL THE WAY BABY

I have seen 70 percent of America and Nothing beats Calif man Nothing.

The weather is perfect and we dont need to wear trenchcoats unless were starring in the Sopranos.

20 minutes from the Mountains.(Snowboarding)
20 min from the Ocean. (One of the Best Coastlines in the World)
20 min Gun Range
20 min fishing lakes
20 min DisneyLand
1 hour form the Desert (Palm Springs rocks)
3 1/2 hours to vegas (avg speed 100mph
5 Hours to Lake Havasu and Parker
5 Hours and you can see Cheshire :)

Seconds away from the best looking women in the world. ok ok except Spain. And for some reason all the Brunettes are in New York.
