Michael Moore's New Film to Be Launched Exclusively Online
Moore says, ""This is being done entirely as a gift to my fans. The only return any of us are hoping for is the largest turnout of young voters ever at the polls in November."
You can download the whole thing free for 3 weeks, beginning September 23rd. |
Link please. I tend to be suspicious of him nowadays. But I agreed with him on the health care crisis.
|
LMAO!!! I guess he couldn't get any distribution.

...you are in financial ?:upsidedow |

You are aware of the very low returns from "Sicko", about 25% of the revenues from his other films, and the fact that Moore took 50% of gross rather than the usual 20%, so the profits for the big distributers were crap?
...you were aware of that right?:upsidedow |

Damn skippy (you aren't oldschool)! You are the epitome of he newschool ignoramus! Communist: one held to engage in left-wing, subversive, or revolutionary activities. I'd say that smoked the chubster right on the schnoz! Maybe you should completely research the definition of a word before trying using it as an insult, or some weak ass form of weaponry, 'cause your size quadruple X hero is that which you despise. Unless you do not mind always failing. |

Nothing is ever going to change.. Voting for Obama is not going to do shit..
Those slackers went to see Moore because he is famous not because they are actually going to do anything for change.. Voting for lesser of the two evils.. yahh..... ok... |

Saw all the movies from Moore, and most of them I liked. Bit demagogue but delivers.
1) I have no idea how could Bush win for the second time 2) He convinced me not to live in the States - never - no way. What happens in Sicko can never happen here in Hungary... |
I like his movies, I don't always agree with every viewpoint he has, but for the most part he does a good job of giving you most of the facts and letting you deal with them in your own head.
I do think he can help bring the younger voting age out to vote, much like MTV helps. Does that mean everyone will vote for Obama, no - but it does mean more people will vote because of the efforts of a few people/groups. |

Are you upset because to you that means he's trying to sway the vote somehow? Or is getting more people to vote a bad thing somehow? |
okai cool cant wait ...

I am not sure why we would want to encourage young slackers whose primary life experiences are bong hits and keg stands to vote. :2 cents:

Of course Micheal Moore is attempting to get these types of voters to participate in the process because he is well aware that they are the most easily manipulated demographic who are the most susceptible to being swayed by cheap propaganda. Their lack of life experience makes them easy pickings for political con artists like Moore. :disgust |
Is this movie meant to be some form of hidden obama propaganda?

If history is any measure, "Slacker Uprising" could have made a decent sum in theaters. His last two films, "Sicko" ($24 million) and "Fahrenheit 9/11" ($119 million) are two of the three highest grossing documentaries ever.
Moore said that "Slacker Uprising" cost about $2 million to make and that he will end up paying about $1 million out of his pocket. Neither he nor the distributor, Brave New Films, plan to profit from the release. The director's last film, "Sicko," leaked online and was downloaded illegally in large numbers. He says this download, offered by BlipTV, will be high-resolution and far better than "YouTube quality." To receive the download, people can sign up at SlackerUprising.com. A "Night of a Thousand House Parties" is planned for Oct. 4, when local neighborhood screenings are hoped to be scheduled. A DVD will be released Oct. 7. For now, Moore hopes "Slacker Uprising" will help spur young people to vote this November. After more than 20 million 18 to 29-year-olds cast ballots in 2004 (an 11 percent increase from 2000), he's hoping even greater numbers of "slackers" vote this year. Moore readily acknowleges this is a film for Democrats. "This film, really isn't for anybody other than the choir," said Moore. "But that's because I believe the choir needs a song to sing every now and then." |
People 18-29 aren't going to go listen to him spew his shit if they don't some what agree with what he is already saying.
Why does the age make a difference? Hell, it appears most of them know the War was illegal, bullshit, a lie, not needed, murder, ect.. and that is enough to get out and vote for change. At least they aren't letting petty things like abortion, guns, and crap that won't change anytime soon get in the way of something they believe in. |

moore himself already stated the movie is left wing propaganda.
