Saw a part of his acceptance speech last night on how he was going to combat so many of the problems America has. Did not tell us how but I'm sure he knows how and was not just spouting off to please the crowd.

But then this opens up the question of if he knows how it should be done he should of told Bush sometime or maybe he did and the policies he has do not work or Bush ignored them.

Telling the people what you want to do is easy, coming up with a plan to do it that works is the tough part. I'm not interested in what he or Obama want to do, I want to hear how they are going to do it. Or at least give the impression they have a clue.

My one fear is Obama will be another Carter and we do not need someone like him in power in the US today. On the other hand McCain might be another Bush and that would be worse.

You weren't just mindlessly spouting drivel. It takes a bit of an ability to store, recall, and compare to use the information you provided; not to mention a bit of fact checking for those who disagree.

..I'm not done with all of it, myself, but you didn't really put a spin on it, so you already lost everyone's interest. Welcome to the wide, wonderful world of the group blog that is GFY.

That is the key to politics. You tell people what you want to do, but not exactly how you will do it. That way when you don't do it you can blame a lot of people other than yourself for it not happening. If you call out exactly how you are going to do something then people could see how you failed when you didn't and you would have to shoulder the blame. A great example of this is Bush Sr. when he said during his campaign, "read my lips, no new taxes." Then when he created new taxes he got hammered for it and he lost his re-election.

It would be if you didn't have so much crap on it. First of al you just can say so and so voted yes or no on a bill. Bills are more complicated than that so you either are too stupid to know that or are just trying to manipulate the facts. Secondly whoever becomes President is not longer in Congress and thus no longer gets to vote onbills. So their influence in that is gone. President can only veto or sign a bill. Does it help McCain or the GOP if he becomes President and his replacement in the Senate winds up being a Democrat? Um...no.

McCain can say he will do this or that. McCain can't do shit. CONGRESS passes the bills not the President. McCain can say he wants to ge rid of the "death tax" well guess what that's only going to happen if CONGRESS decides to pass such a bill. Considering it's controlled by the Dems I'd say that chance is ZERO. Unless the Repubs take over Congress durring his final two years how much of what McCain says he's going to do is actually going to get done? So I'm dubious of what ANY candidate says he or she is going to do. Obama has a better chance because his party will control Congress. Of course Hillary will still be in the Senate and her and her supporters in Congress are backing Obama for NOW, doesn't mean once he's in the White House they will play ball with him. Revenge is a bitch.

The overwhelming thing I got from it is...Obama doesn't vote a lot in the Senate.

Not that it's a bad thing. I'm of the notion that the LESS those fuckers do in Washington the better. They already run every facet of our lives and make us pay the bill for the privilege of living like sheep. Less is definitely more for me when it comes to government.

Yeah, look at the dates and it show you many of McCain's votes listed were prior to Obama taking up his position.
