There was tons of threads how dollar is going to hell,i posted them also, but now when dollar is going up,around 1.44 now comparing to 1.60 recently is big step. Are you guys scared it could go down again and afraid to talk about it?Or just scared to call bad luck?:)

ro8in 09-03-2008 04:35 AM

Im just bored of the dollar.. Already accepted the fact it sucks.

grumpy 09-03-2008 04:36 AM

take your changes, it will fall again. There is nothing backing up the dollar.

bobby666 09-03-2008 04:37 AM

i go to my atm everyday now

LilBro 09-03-2008 04:37 AM

or that the price per barrel has come down but yet gas in NYC is still the same price... : (

pocketkangaroo 09-03-2008 04:38 AM

It should get stronger by next year. Still don't think it will get too much better in the short term. But globally, a lot of countries are starting to go into an economic downturn while we are slowly coming out of ours.

After Shock Media 09-03-2008 04:48 AM

If it is not anti US or bash around the US then there is no point in posting about it.

hjnet 09-03-2008 04:50 AM

If the democrats win the election we're going to see 1.30 again, my prediction :)

I don't agree completely. I think people just tend to regurgitate whatever the media tells them. If their media source puppetmasters were telling them more about the gaining US dollar, they'd be talking about it more.

Lykos 09-03-2008 05:10 AM

I truly belive dollar will be back on track,US is still way too strong to fall like that and that fast... dollar was even weaker before and got up again :winkwink:

v4 media 09-03-2008 05:14 AM

1.44 is still painful, when it gets to parity then I'll start the happy dance....

There is...US recesion has influence on Europe and other countries, too. Believe it or not. Now it already hit Europe, so there is nothing backing up euro right now.

Zuzana Designs 09-03-2008 05:49 AM

Election is near

Sounds about right.

Was funny to read all the threads when the dollar first started to fall. " haha, the dollar is falling and sucks" etc. And then when they realized they got paid in DOLLARS! Ha.

And yeah we saw a nice jump in the exchange here.

Made us happy.

DirtyProfits 09-03-2008 06:02 AM

I don't see the dollar becoming much stronger soon. It will take much more time to get out of the recession.

beta-tester 09-03-2008 06:05 AM

i hope it'll recover even more as the time goes by and the gas prices dropping...

Bossman 09-03-2008 06:09 AM

Not the dollar getting stronger, but the euro getting weaker :2 cents:

nekrom 09-03-2008 06:12 AM

3 weeks ago the Aussie dollar was 0.98 today it is 0.83. I'm pretty stoked that the usd is getting a touch stronger. :)

Here's a link to the article I wrote about The Falling Dollar for FubarTimes Magazine. Hopefully you find some of the comments from industry insiders helpful. :2 cents:

theS2O 09-03-2008 06:20 AM

keep it up dollah.. :)

myjah 09-03-2008 06:22 AM

No way - that would totally go against all the whining that is the norm. ;)

DutchTeenCash 09-03-2008 06:59 AM

its nice but nothing like it used to be

next yr will be better again for sure history proofs that

yys 09-03-2008 07:09 AM

I think the reason you don't see as many threads is because people don't want to point out what utter idiots they were. I mean did you really believe that all the people who proclaimed the end of the American empire and how the US was in for a continual economic downturn and all the other bullshit they spewed would show their faces. :1orglaugh
If you want back over those same individuals posts over the years you would probably notice the same group telling people that the real estate market only ever goes up, a tech company with no plan to make a profit is a good investment, etc..... As someone else said, they regurgitate everything they read; they're a bunch of lemmings.

First of all the U.S. was never in a recession. Second, just like every other time the US economy has become weak it takes a while before that weakness works its way into other countries economies. The U.S. economy will be on the uptick well the rest of the world will still be feeling the symptoms of the U.S. slowdown.

When the U.S. sneezes the rest of the world catches a cold.

BuggyG 09-03-2008 07:31 AM

why talk of the dollar when there is a hotter topic as a 17yr old that is pregnant

I'm curious as to what countries will do for money after their precious oil becomes nearly worthless black goo. Maybe not in 10 or 20 years...but eventually it will happen. The American people are tired of sending their money overseas and a lot of us are willing to spend extra to develop domestic technology to prevent it from happening again...ever. Wind power, natural gas, advanced battery technology, it's all coming along faster and stronger than ever. The days of "Big Oil" are numbered.

baddog 09-03-2008 10:40 AM

So, are those Euros I saved from last year still a good deal (compared to last year)?

tranza 09-03-2008 10:42 AM

No reason to jinx it.

Contraction of credit dollars = more valuable dollars. Still might be undervalued against asian currencies. Europe's economy is getting hammered.

TubeTitans_SusieQ 09-03-2008 12:13 PM

Yes my grandmother has noticed that it's worth more in Poland now. She's coming down next week, can't wait to see her.

Paul Markham 09-03-2008 12:30 PM

Up from 15 CZK to 17 CZK recently. Got a long way to go to get it back to 35. :Oh crap

Dago 09-03-2008 12:34 PM

america is going to shit, and it's only going to get worse.

Ross 09-03-2008 12:38 PM

1 pound is $1.77
I'm pretty happy with that. Earning 15% more per month with the same dollar income.

pr0 09-03-2008 12:42 PM

expect the U.S. economy to continue making gains

and falling oil prices........right up until the election

Antonio 09-03-2008 12:48 PM

people were talking about the falling dollar when they were making sales, right now what difference does it make???

with zero sales the dollar can go up the roof -> $0.00 * 1 MIL = 0 Euros, pesos, rubles

I speak with clients from the UK fairly often and this is true from all accounts I've heard...

We're all far to interconnected for it not to affect them.
