Tennis people: Anyone been at the US Open?
I'm condemned to watch it on TV.
The Federer / Andreev battle was amazing. Post your pics or whaterver. What's the atmosphere like? |
why condemned?

Because I live far, far, far away and I don't like to travel that much :P
Plus, there's a lot of work too and if I go, I'd have my butt glued to the seats at the courts. |
I've been two years in a row now, no photos or anything because they generally frown on flash photography there anyways. Here's what I can tell you about the players I met though...
Novak Djkovic was jogging around outside of the stadium with his trainer and me and a buddy waved at him and he smiled and gave us a thumbs up. Andy Roddick hates his fans. Was hanging out in the players lounge (I got mad skillz access to these types of places) and it was right after he won a match and he was about to go outside and start signing autographs. We merely said "Hey man, there's a lot of people outside waiting for you." and he replied with "Are you serious? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck." Hahahaha, can't really blame the guy, signing a million autographs and taking pictures after you just won a two hour match. James Blake is real laid back and just sits around listening to his ipod before matches. Watched him in the players locker room. I had a lot of fun everytime! |
did your mom go?

Sounds like a lot of fun, especially when you have backstage passes. I almost went to the FO this year, but I got caught in the new house's paperwork and couldn't make it. In part I was happy because it was a long plane ride. I do hit the local Challengers every year and watch old and washed up players meet the new and upcoming ones. |
Nahh, just happened to watched this on TV the other day with my father in-law.
