Clay Bennett from Oklahoma City bought the Seattle Supersonics a couple of years ago. He reached a settlement with the city of Seattle to void the remaining years on the team's lease and moved the team to Oklahoma City this summer.

The Supersonics name and record will remain in Seattle for a possible future franchise.

The new team name and colors will be announced tomorrow. I hope the name is not Thunder.

I think Thunder was leaked a few weeks ago when they placed the teams schedule online on NBA.com. "Thunder" was quickly replaced to "Oklahoma City" in the schedule after the mess up.

yes, and someone posted pictures of the ball with Thunder logo. Looks like NJ Nets logo.

Yeah, I know.

They requested trademarks on several other names. None of them were great.

There was an old NASL team named the Oklahoma City Slickers. That one would be kind of funny.
