Would it be inappropriate to wear a welding mask to a poker game?
 

Sunglasses just don't cut it so I was thinking about wearing one of these.

That is a lame wielding mask, at least get it modified or do it yourself with some paint and if your capable some sculpting material such as green stuff or other form of two part epoxy.

I could see some pit bosses not lovin it.

Does it have a HUD?

They sell some pretty cool custom ones, but I thought the all black would be more mysterious.

Then you should go with an old school executioners hood. Just cover the eye holes with fine black mesh and presto. Highly mysterious, somewhat scary, not as goofy, nowhere near as heavy, and is just that much cooler.

Bonus points if you wear studded forearm guards and a wife beater shirt.

get a big pullover and a baseball cap. zip up the collar and pull down the cap so theres just your eyes peeking out

Those are other mask ideas are cool, but I think I'm going with the welding helmet. It has a certain understated dignity to it.

I won't be able to drink my beer through it though. I could use a straw but that would definitely damage my cool factor.
