Ksexradio President Mike Rick Dies

From AVNOnline.Com:

Mike Rick, a fixture in the adult Internet industry since its inception, died late Sunday, Oct. 27, as the result of a fall while hiking.

Rick, a resident of Burbank, Calif., was co-founder of Orange Park, Fla.-based Cyber-Synergism and president of Burbank-based KSEX Radio. In addition to his other duties at the Internet radio station, he hosted "The KSEXperts," a weekly Webcast devoted to "how to get more out of sex and life." He also was a frequent speaker at adult Webmaster conventions.

According to an emotional statement released Monday morning by KSEX Program Director Wankus, the station will suspend programming for at least one day, and possibly one week, beginning Monday, Oct. 28, to honor Rick's memory and to give the staff a chance to grieve and regroup for the future.

"Last night, in a tragic accident while hiking, we lost our fearless leader, Mike Rick," Wankus' statement read. "This is not a joke email or some sick humor, like I thought when I first got the call. He went out at night with binoculars to gget a better look at the stars and slipped on a ridge in the Burbank hills, and [he] must have died while rolling down the steep cliff. I don't know many details beyond that....

"... I made one call today about it and couldn't get any words out because I was crying like a small child.

"As of tonight ... we will suspend all programming out of respect for the situtation. We may resume tomorrow night, although I'm not sure. I might wish to keep the entire week dark, under the circumstances. I can't think straight right now.

"If you are looking for something to do to help under the situation, first please project positive thoughts to Alison, Chris, Pop Pop, and Mike's family. If you're a religious type, please make many a prayer. Secondly, I wouldn't recommend a flutter of visitors and calls today, but tomorrow it would be nice for Alison to hear from [those close to her and employees].

"Please remember the awesome qualities [Rick] had as we move on to the future without him. He had an incredible heart and a vision like no other."

Condolences may be sent to Fastbroadcast, c/o Wankus, 2829 Glen Oaks Blvd. #203, Burbank, Calif. 91504. The station will deliver them to the family.

What a shame. Mike Rick was a really nice guy. I met him a few times and he always had a smile on his face and good things to say about people in general.

Makes you really appreciate the little things in life......

That's horrible. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

I find it slightly bizarre that the guy releasing the statement about his death is called WankUs.

This is so sad.

Mike was a really great guy and always fun to hang out with. It was just a few weeks ago we were hanging in Mexico. Mike was a great personality and visionary.

Our prayers go out to Alison and the kids as well as his father and employees.

I just read about this too, and I am really saddened. Mike has been a good friend over the past couple of years, and I will miss him dearly.

Here is the link to the AVNOnline site so everyone knows that this is really and not a spoof of any type.

I have a certain penchant for crashing strangers funerals..(dont ask) but I think I might check this one out for a valid reason. My condolences go out to his family

I spoke many times with Rick, as I have been a long time customer of Cyber Synergism.

I never got to meet the man, but every time I spoke with him, I felt I had been touched by someone who was very electric and excited about his business projects and life in general

On behalf of our team at Silicon River, I would like to pass my thoughts on from all of us to Alison and everyone else at Cyber Syngergism who must be feeling so very low right now.

If there is anything we can do in this time of extreme grief, please tell us, and we will do everything in our power to help.

Daniel :(
