This is fucking insane

Ok, so I quit smoking last week. However, I am weak, so, today, I lit one up again... and passed out. What the fuck? A week ago I was smoking 2 packs a day, and now I literally pass out from a single cigarette!?

Ace-Ace 10-28-2002 04:40 PM

haha, peace lungs.

Libertine 10-28-2002 04:55 PM

Well, I guess this means I'm gonna have to give up smoking for good. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Naaa..once you've quit for a few months you can smoke when your drinking & still not get re-addicted.

I smoked at the philadelphia convention...& then again in NYC for nina's party....and i just put them down when i was sober again :1orglaugh

Now i can take them or leave them...i love it

.:Frog:. 10-28-2002 05:08 PM

Shit... you literally passed out cold? I've never heard of someone passing completely out from a cig unless it was laced with something. Did you pull that burn down to the filter in 5 seconds or something?

I quit smoking with my wife when she got pregnant (so as not to tempt her with the smell of smoke). But I'm a nico addict to say the least. Now I'm chewing tobacco for the next 9 months. Haven't done that since high school. You wanna talk about a buzz! LOL. Skoal mint hits you like a crack pipe when you aren't used to it. :1orglaugh

lagwagon 10-28-2002 07:07 PM

haha that sucks.... the last time that i did not smoke for five days, then i lit one up because of some stress. that was the most disgusting thing i could have done at that moment... but i am back to smoking and all it normal. i can think of 100 reasons i dont like it and not one reason that i do... but one thing is for sure i am still lighting up..... :helpme

I thought of the same thing this week. Smoking only when drinking. It hasnt worked out too well though. I don't know who else has tried to quit but when I stopped smoking for a day I couldnt breath for some reason. This ever happen to anyone else?

Yep. When I quit, I was coughing up yellow phlem for a few days... it's your lungs cleaning themselves and bringing up all the yucky crap that's deep down in the bronchial tubes.

But I'm no medical expert or anything. :winkwink:

andrew1009 10-28-2002 07:28 PM

I need to quit... cigs are fuckin expensive these days, especially here in Canada (about $8/pack! and rising!).

Wenchy 10-28-2002 09:48 PM

Holy crap... $8 a pack?!? And I thought $23.99 a carton was bad
:(

Morgan 10-28-2002 09:50 PM

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

That happened to me too.
I quit smoking a year and a half ago and about two weeks into it I had moments and aven minutes when I couldn't breathe.
Once it got really bad but lasted less than a mimute.
So here I am, smoking again! :rasta

You will ALWAYS want a smoke. Once you've aquired the addiction, it's a lifelong struggle.

421Fill 10-28-2002 10:09 PM

dayum dude, just stay quit. The first week is the hardest, and by month number 2 it really does get better. :thumbsup

Always smoke sitting down :thumbsup

Firehorse 10-28-2002 11:36 PM

I gave up over 4 years ago.

I feel fitter than ever. I can workout for 2 hours hardcore and train sports and martial arts like a breeze.

To breathe right is to live right.

You have taken the first step.

Think of some of the benefits:

Increased lung capacity

Improved sense of aste

Improved sense of smell

Reduced chance of various smoking related cancers etc etc

Be strong

:thumbsup

Same shit happened to me.
Used to smoke 2 , 2.5 packs of Red Marlboro for about 6 years.

Stopped for only 3 days totally.

On the fourth day 1st Marbolor Light cigarette almost killed me I think.
I didnt pass out but damn I was close to.

Much harder than what You fell when you smoke for the first time.

I think this affects only heave smokers.

You shouldnt have smoked that 1st cigarette.
I did same mistake.

Now I still smoke. Around half a pack to a full pack of Marlboro Light , still better than those 2 packs before but still bad.
I was trying not to quit smoking completely but to limit it to a 1-2 cigarettes per day.

Now I am not sure that it's possible.

No way! I gave up after smoking at least a pack a day for over 10 years. It's now 7 years later, and I have never had a craving.

I think it has to do with your head. I used neuro-linguistic programming (but I did it by myself from reading a book rather than forking out $$$ for some bogus "course").

I have heard other ppl say that, tho... The craving never stops. Those ppl must have amazing willpower. I have no willpower.
