HBO documentary White Light, Black Rain
Has anyone seen this? I saw it last night... it was a great documentary. All personal accounts of what happened in Hiroshima / Nagasaki by survivors...
Some of them deformed, disfigured, most lost their entire families... The stories they had were horrible. Crazy how powerful those bombs were... over 60 years ago!! I wonder much power these bombs have nowadays... There was the scene of this one guy who's ribs were pretty much on the outside because of the burns... it was nuts to see him take off his shirt (this pic doesn't do it justice). He said his bones were so brittle that if he coughed violently his ribs would break! http://www.oneinchpunch.net/wordpres...black-rain.jpg If you haven't seen this, watch it! Available on demand! |
wow, i think i would rather be dead.

I watched some old black and white documentaries on that topic

Here are some intesting links for you that may answer your question. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megaton http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../Nukecloud.png http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../Nukecloud.png 0 = average crusing altitude of commercial airplane. 1 = Fatman bomb dropped on Nagasaki was only 20 - 22 KILOTONS!!! 2 = The Castle Bravo bomb tested by USA was only a 15 Megaton bomb. Not shown is the Tsar Bomba Hydrogen bomb tested by the commies, it yielded 58 Megatons. Look at the graph again. The Castle Bravo was a 15 megaton bomb. The commies ACTUALLY TESTED a 58 MEGATON BOMB! Project Cannikin Watch between 1 and 2 seconds you'll see a flash, that's the indicator that the 5 Megaton bomb was set off a a little over a mile underground. "The ground lifted 20 feet (6 m), caused by an explosive force equivalent almost 400 times the power of the Hiroshima bomb" They still have aftershocks to this day from the earthquake it caused. More on Cannikin, and the other tests at Amchitka. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amchitka |
Tsar Bomba
58 meaton bomb detonated 2 miles above the ground. The Nagasaki bomb was detonated 1800 feet above the ground. |
