Agreed. Last year this is when my sales rebounded. I've already noticed a slight uptick this past week.

BTW, who is going to be the first to post that business doesn't slow down in the summertime?

it doesnt for everyone, personally my record for sales was in july
some people have been taking a hit hard since tube sites came out and the economy going down hill in the usa.. anyone relying only on mgp/tgp traffic has probably seen a hit in their sales and it probably will get worse but thats just my :2 cents:

I'm saying that what happens between you and your sponsors has nothing to do with what's going on with my own site....I've been doing this for eight years and I know what the cycle is....

yes i agree the slowdown is done for this year. its amazing to see how my statsremote starts jumpin' again at the end of August every year :thumbsup the people that say there is no summer slowdown never took a microeconomics class :2 cents:

heres three reasons why
1) its summer and everybodys outside having fun in the sun.
2) its summer and the kids are off school and mom and dad dont want to get caught looking at porn
3) tube sites

well then tubes giving away free 30 min movies should not hurt sales at all :thumbsup

While some summers in the past I've dipped 10-15%. The past two years I haven't. Where one thing might be down, let's say memberships to a particular site, clip or DVD sales will be up. So it balances out.

However, summer is no different than any other month in the past two years. It seems to follow that trend for us. One thing up, and other down, bottom line the same or higher.

I think we need to define the term "Summer Slowdown" so we all are talking about the same thing. To me, "Summer Slowdown" refers to the idea that the demand for online porn slows as a whole due to North American surfer behaviour during the summer months.

Of course everyone's business is different depending on what your selling, your traffic sources and where in the world your surfers are located - and what stage of growth you are in. So whether or not any one person/business feels the effect of Summer Slowdown is a different issue from whether Summer Slowdown exists at all. :2 cents:

That's the same thing as a day trader trying to rationalize his good month with a long term investor who has been doing the same shit long enough to know what the trends are.

You just explained the reason why I'm not talking about you.....I'm talking about people who are selling one product over a long period of time to an established customer base.....I'm not talking about how something dips here and I make up for it over there...That's not the same thing and shouldn't be included in the same argument as this one.

For instance, say I'm Coca Cola, and I know that my product, COCA COLA, is in lower demand during the winter months....Yeah Coke sells their product all over the world but their highest percentage of customers are in the United States.....

Then here comes Jack in the Box, who sells Coca Cola along with a lot of other shit and says, "Hey, I'm not experiencing any slowdown because my French Fry sales are making up for the slowdown in Coke sales".....Big fucking whoop....Nobody is talking about selling French Fries....We're talking about selling COLA...

We dipped down quite a bit during August, the rest of the summer had actually been really good, now the past 5 or 6 days on an upturn again. So far today has been really good. :thumbsup

i've been selling the same adult products for 6 years now and agree with the OP on all counts.

That is exactly what I saw. Great June and July...then August was looking shitty and my stats remote forecast was coming out about 3 grand short of last month....but then the last 4 days have been so good that I'm back up where I should be. :) Yesterday was $1,681 today is forecast at $1,919 so I'm happy :)

And now that Sept. is here...shit is gonna pick up even better. I love this business.

things look good here. I was around 1:400 with my main sponsor the for last few months and the last 3 weeks have been 1:114

After todays sales already we have now surpassed July's sales. If not for this past week it would of been bad. lol

Last half of Aug has really sucked for me. More traffic less sales. I hope it picks up next month. :pimp

Not me! When I was in elementary school I was so much smarter and more advanced than the other students it was like they were a different species. In the adult world however, it evens out quite a bit since success is derived from a lot more than just raw intelligence.

I think key to avoid slowdown to update sites with totaly new content on summer.And i even managed to get more sales then month before.

for the record my income has been in decline since april while my traffic has actually increased

My mainstream business definitely has a summer slowdown factor, and a huge boost in Q4 and Q1, but that is due to the budget season of my business clients.

its the same in mainstream, and our clients follow the same trend, both mainstream and adult

sales are amazing in January, after people got their christmas computers and just click and buy shit for a month. then around april/may, it starts to slow, then it picks up aug/sept.
