Define focus, like do you mean it pops up on your screen or something?
I know when mine goes off my indicator icon in my tray flashes and if I have a talk tab open it also will flash but that is it. No sounds, no pop ups, etc.

I mean like if I am typing away doing something else, and a message is sent to me that the...focus?...of the cursor is taken away. If I have icq running, but minimized, and I am typing this message, an incoming message will cause my cursor to freeze and I will have to go open the message to make it stop.

If I have icq running and open, it does not do that.

I cannot tell you how many times a day I get stopped in place because of an incoming message.

Something makes me think something is broken with your ICQ or computer.

Could be the icq, I dunno.

I really don't think it is the computer, as everything else works just fine and dandy.

I keep icq turned off as much as possible, but it is a necessary evil due to the biz.

Thanks much for the suggestions, hon! :)

reinstall it I am guessing .. sounds more like an ICQ error .. or your comp is so slow it can't handle the gigantic load an incoming message is laying down .. jk
