We've got black widows in the pit where the plumbing for the sprinkler system is. I won't even open that thing...EVER. Those things scare the shit out of me.

widow spiders are badass. they're really not bad tempered or half as much of a threat to people as their reputation would lead you to believe. some of the more exotic varieties look absolutely stunning.

My dad swears that there are no Black Widows in Oregon. Obviously you and I both know he is incorrect about that. :)

I've only seen a couple of them over the years but this was the first one I was about to shoot. I only took 2 pics and the other is kinda blurry but I didn't kill it so I can go back and get more pics when I have the time.

Cool pics. I remember learning about black widows at school. Just done a wiki search on them...

Tons of those in this area.. I usually find several a year in my garage or backyard. Dont know how they survive the crap the exterminator sprays.
