FACT: Nobody wanted to be McCain's VP

Sarah Palin who?

McCain just threw the election away.

They can sugarcoat her all they want. The bottom line is she has very little experience even as a governor (just a year and a half), and nothing on the national level. This is a damning liability considering the higher than normal likelihood that McCain's vice president may have to take over.

Would you want a president whose experience is limited to a year and a half as governor of Alaska? What a joke.

Worse of all for McCain, he can't say a peep anymore about Obama's lack of experience.

Relentless 08-29-2008 10:22 AM

He punted.

Shamus McFamous 08-29-2008 10:26 AM

This throws the experience questions out the window. I also sincerely doubt they can keep harping on Obama's supposed lack of judgement after this :1orglaugh

What a fucking clown "My friends"

MrPinks 08-29-2008 10:26 AM

That's still more executive experience than McCain, Obama, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden have - combined :2 cents:

George W. Bush.

Bill Clinton and Reagan were former governors, too. What's your point?

I don't support McCain and Palin. However, executive experience does matter up to a point, and she has it.

Paul Markham 08-29-2008 11:16 AM

Just watched the speech of McCain introducing her. It was all about bringing down the special interests, lobbyists, big business and vested interests in Washington. Good thing to. Even they can see what Bush has done. Are they saying Bush was wrong and they were wrong to support him?

Or it was everyone else's fault and Bush was not good enough to get rid of it. :upsidedow

Seems to me they are saying "Trust us to change the system we helped build higher."

Obama was the one to start this tact and they are hypocrites jumping onto it. Pretty sure this will blow up in their faces when voting histories are shown.

CaptainHowdy 08-29-2008 11:21 AM

Lol ......

TheDoc 08-29-2008 11:23 AM

She is also connected with big oil - I'm still researching.

Before you read this, the guy fired was a drunk asshole that did threaten to kill her sister or dad, one of the two. Abuse of power and proper chain of command, or something of the such, is in question - you have to do it correctly or it shows that you will step out of line if "your personal interests and feelings" come into play.

Ethics complaint filed against Gov. Palin
The Associated Press

ANCHORAGE - A former state worker is alleging Gov. Sarah Palin and some staff members used their influence to get a Palin supporter a job in state government.

Andree McLeod filed the ethics complaint Wednesday with the attorney general's office against Palin and members of her staff.

McLeod claims staff members helped Tom Lamal, who once co-hosted a Palin fundraiser, to get a job as a surveyor in Fairbanks.

Palin disagreed with the allegation, saying the state corrected outdated job requirements that prevented a qualified candidate from moving through the hiring process.

McLeod based her complaint on e-mails between government officials. She obtained the documents through a public records request.

McLeod says she has worked for the state at various times for decades, the last time after an appointment by former Gov. Frank Murkowski, whom Palin beat in the GOP primary in 2006.

Palin told the Anchorage Daily News that McLeod also has sought an appointment from her.

I'm headed towards the oil stuff, either she did or didn't do this. If she did, it's kinda fucked but easy to twist into a lie. Otherwise it will fall to the side.

I'll save you some time. Her husband works for BP.

GetSCORECash 08-29-2008 11:41 AM

So is it all about the OIL, again!

sltr 08-29-2008 11:43 AM

with his age, many voters will have an issue with that choice.

You do realize that what you are saying isn't actually true, right?

Robbie 08-29-2008 12:22 PM

You know guys...our founding fathers originally planned for every American to have the opportunity to serve in congress, the senate, and even become president. Over time it became a "career" and "experience" (in fucking things up) became desirable (or at least we have been conditioned to believe so)

George Washington served ONE term and quit because he didn't want to become a "king" And if you go back and read the letters of Jefferson, Franklin, etc. You will read that they envisioned every citizen serving either their town, county, state, or country as an elected representative at least once.

Anyway...I hope Obama wins. I think he would be better for us in the adult biz...though he may hurt my wallet in the tax dept. At least I'll still be in business.

Sunny 08-29-2008 12:28 PM

let see what Obama do after fucking bush

To be a technical prick: One 8-year term before the concept of terms or term limits existed.

This highlights exactly why I'm torn...
Obama seems to be bent on penalizing successful business people in pursuit of some vague feel good quasi-socialist utopia. On the other hand McCain seems like a reactionary angry belligerent war hawk with no understanding of business or economics. I used to like him, but then when he set his sites on the white house he started kissing ass to people I don't like, just for political gain.

He will talk lots, and make people feel good by talking with pretty words, and then when things go bad he will talk some more and make people feel good with his pretty words ....

Not sure he can do anything, but he will make some great speeches :)

Quagmire 08-29-2008 12:33 PM

The media will have to break a story that involves McCain with 15 gay lovers, a pool full of baby oil and a flock of sheep for him to lose this election. :2 cents:

Did you happen to see who you were responding to? When was truth ever an issue for him.

Magic join links, emails from members supporting his business model.

cykoe6 08-29-2008 12:35 PM

Perhaps I am just being optamistic.... but my immediate reaction upon hearing his pick was "McCain just won the election." Obviously we will have to wait and see how it plays but it seems like a very good move to me. It gives many of the women voters who hate Obama a reason to vote for the Republican ticket and it also helps balance out the "historic" nature of the Obama campaign which was its primary (and only as far I am concerned) appeal. :2 cents:
