Toronto Personal Vehicle Tax in Effect, Sep 1st
In case any you fellow Torontonians haven't heard, if you live in Toronto, you're getting hit with an additional $60 on your sticker renewal.
Quote:
Our local vehicle licence office on The Queensway has issued a reminder notice that effective September 1, 2008, anyone renewing their vehicle licence plates or obtaining a new plate will be subject to the City of Toronto?s Personal Vehicle Tax of $60 which will be added on to the usual annual renewal amount.
Who does it affect? It affects anyone whose postal code starts with the letter ?M? ie. MXX XXX.
The tax is for passenger vehicles and personal use light commercial vehicles.
The $60 is an annual charge and arises when you have to get a sticker for your plates. (It does not apply to transfers).
