Recommendations: Los Angeles Area Hotels??
Recommendations?
I am going to the Webmaster Access West in November, but I loved L.A. so much last time was there a few months back. I am going to extend my stay a week. I stayed in the, Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel, and really enjoyed it. While around the corner from the airport, I never heard a plane the whole time. The restaurants were a bit over priced for what you got, and others were a walk or hike away if you wanted to eat elsewhere. But other than that, was pleased. But since that was my first trip to L.A. and just booked based on Travelocity reviews, I figured I would ask others since I am in the process of booking my next trip. Already have my Atlanta Forum, and Disney in December booked and paid for. Also looking forward to Vegas in Jan... I am trying to get the festivities for this L.A. trip all set as well. I might fit in a mainstream show in Chicago as well in October, but we'll see. Give me your suggestions, experiences, good and bad. One's to stay away from, and so forth. Fire away ladies. |

I was out that way, and at dinner at one of the places there next to the Marina. The name escapes me now. I would have to check receipts. Thanks for the map chief. :thumbsup |

Nice restaurant, but they have lawn furniture more a less for your place next to the docks and outlook. Kinda weird in a nice restaurant to be in a lawn chair. :disgust |

I go to Little Tokyo for the smoothies and toys (non-adult toys), but other than that... what is there? |

1. You can see the new justice center pointy top. 2. Site of O.J. trial. 3. Fancy Disney auditorium thing. 4. The place on the hill, next to the river, where the first settlers of L.A. lived. :disgust |

1) The new justice center pointy top thing... are you referring to our police department? The one from the old Dragnet shows? And on cop badges? 2) Too bad you can't just walk in for a tour. So really all your seeing is a very ugly courthouse building. 3) It's neat, but they won't let you take pics of half naked girls there without being kicked the fuck out. :( (bastards) 4) That's something I should go look at I guess. I never heard of it before. If you're a party kinda person. (not sure if you's a boy or a girly) but if you party or like to see shit go down, stay in a hotel on Sunset, near the clubs. Or in Hollywood. At least on Sunset you're closer to a lot more things. You're not too far from the Palisades (they got nice beaches) Venice is just a few miles (but takes a few hours) (LA Joke) to get there. Santa Monica isn't far. Westwood is close. Hollywood is close. West LA... I mean Wesssssssst LA. The gay clubs on Santa Monica in Wessssst LA are FUCKING PACKED all night long it seems like. Even after the clubs on Sunset seem to close there is always some gay shit going down in West LA. You're not to far from the LA Zoo. Universal is just a hop skip and jump up the 101. Come to the Valley and I'll take you to some good restaurants. (moderately priced) not overpriced like on Restaurant Row. In my opinion, I think you'd be pretty happy staying on Sunset, and bear in mind that's based on me not knowing you or what you're into at all. :thumbsup |
