Vegas vs. .MP4. I could use your help. :(
:helpme
Ok, so I'm trying to render out 500 clips at 30 seconds long in Vegas. I already edited the footage and added a watermark to the beginning and end of the clip. When I do a batch render, I get random render problems. It renders to 100% but then just keeps counting the elapsed time without going to the next clip. This happens 10 clips in, 20 clips or sometimes even on the first clip. It's very random. When it freezes, you can't cancel the render. You click cancel and then it says "Render cancelled by user" and does nothing. It still shows the progress window, and doesn't allow you to shut the program down. You have to CTRL+ALT+DEL and kill the vegas process. Then when you open up and render it again, it goes with no problem until 5 or 6 more down the line. Anyone else run into this problem? My unfortunate solution is rendering them out as AVI's then dropping them into cleaner, but I really would rather do everything in *Vegas. * I fucking hate Vegas. I run into it's limitations on a daily basis. I've clearly outgrown it and it's time to move on, so save your breath on telling what other programs I should try cutting on. I already got a plan set into motion, but I need this shit done now unfortunately. :) |
Personally after running into shit like that too much on a batch run... I give up and VideoCharge it until I'm ready to sit down and delve into the problem.
Been noticing my VideoCharge has a few hangups in h264 though, so might not be much help... lol |
im posting this question where I can get you an answer. I assume its vegas 8.0.when they respond I will post it. Also if you speak to compressionists they say encoding in your nle is very very limited.

Hmm.. I might have to give that a try. Thanks Munki.
I thought it was a Vegas problem.. well a Sony problem. I've had nothing but problems with Sony shit since day one. The problem is their shit is really easy to use, but it just doesn't play well with others. I used to have a Sony Z7U before I sold it to Dean Capture. 95% of the stuff I shot was shot to a card. Well, 3 tapes of my daughters first recital were among the only things I ever shot to tape and those tapes can't be read on a Sony deck. They ONLY work in the Z that shot them. I fucking hate Sony. |

Can't help you with Vegas. I have no probs with .mp4s and premiere cs3 using main concept plugin for export. :winkwink:
