Facebook has to be one of the fastest sites online.

All things considered with functionality. I have read so much about the "new" Facebook and how fast it is, so I decided to play around with it last night.

Myspace has been owned.

The search, uploading pictures, all unreal.

Not sure what they programmed something like that in, but damn it sure is fast and logical.

Yeah, after last night, I have to say I agree.

opulence 08-28-2008 01:05 PM

Facebook has always been one of the most impressively coded sites to me...

scottybuzz 08-28-2008 01:10 PM

I love facebook. I actually struggle to find people my age who I know in real life not on it. Everyone around me uses it. The live chat is very impressive.

MBS Auto 08-28-2008 01:11 PM

I don't really care for it

Odie 08-28-2008 01:12 PM

I hate the "new" version..but i'm addicted to it too!

Jayvis 08-28-2008 01:13 PM

Deleted the ol myspace a long time ago in favor of facebook!

cherrylula 08-28-2008 01:16 PM

Really... I cannot stand myspace and avoid it for that reason. It runs like crap.

maybe I will look at Facebook.

You should look at it, if for no other reason, it's way ahead of it's game in terms of coding and site logic.

d-null 08-29-2008 03:25 AM

myspace lost it because of slow loading and hanging browsers, it's kind of a shame

as for facebook... not interested, who needs long lost "friends" from high school looking you up and all that shit :2 cents:

StuartD 08-29-2008 05:35 AM

Considering they just hit 100m users, it's screaming fast.
They must have quite the amazing infrastructure.

I read something like this, and I realize that I am now an extrovert as I thought you were joking...

bloggingseo 08-29-2008 06:27 AM

lol I thought facebook was for high school and college kids. Anyone over 24 on there I mean seriously

mc-nudes 08-29-2008 08:12 AM

facebook rocks ...

Bojangles 08-29-2008 08:40 AM

I only tried facebook for a brief period of time a while back. I'm not much into the whole myspace type of sites. I know a ton of people who seem to use both, though. They seem to enjoy both of them as well.

Eva PSC 08-29-2008 08:41 AM

I never liked such community sites but I am now addicted to Facebook! Really helps to keep in touch with long distance friends or people you don't see often but would like to maintain the friendship.

Poppy 08-29-2008 08:54 AM

I rarely go to MS anymore. I have been signed up since last year to FB, but have rarely used it until now. So much better.

Eriic 08-29-2008 10:05 AM

What is Facebook?

I don't know why anyone would think in such terms. How does the concept of a community site lend itself solely to the perception it would just be for kids? It's just another means of networking and communicating. For the record, my Facebook only has a couple of people on it that are less than 25 in age.

There is huge traffic potential as well, however, I am not going to give any tutorials. But I will say the new Facebook was built around the idea of promoting your own items as well. It's savvy.

mrkris 08-29-2008 11:01 AM

They make heavy use of memcache.

Sunny 08-29-2008 01:04 PM

facebook is a nice site! :thumbsup

Lucky Bastard 08-30-2008 12:40 AM

I hate MySpace - with the annoyingly gay music that automatically plays when you visit a profile, and all the shit flashing graphics and all that bloat crap.

leg4 08-30-2008 05:36 AM

I hate them all... but we gotta use them.

fatfoo 08-30-2008 04:01 PM

yeah, all the new batch of Harvard/MIT grads

Altheon 08-30-2008 04:54 PM

There was an interesting article I read a few months ago how the demographics were heavily skewed on Facebook towards the College crowd vs. MySpace. It makes sense giving it's origins. When I signed up a few years ago I had to do so with my college e-mail address.

It's a great tool but the demographic targeted ads do a piss poor job.

BucksMania 08-30-2008 05:55 PM

dont like neither of them, prefer the dating sites :)

patrick6411 08-30-2008 06:20 PM

I've been on facebook for ages. I love it plus great traffic. :)

Probably because that's how it started out...
