18000 Dutch sites, mainly using Joomla, were hacked in the past few weeks by some Islamist nut.

It pisses me off just how oblivious people are when it comes to security :disgust

The hacker doesn't piss you off?

It's actually pretty hard for a newb or someone who paid to have the site built to keep up with all of the security issues with Joomla..

No, the hacker doesn't piss me off. At least, no more than other religious nuts do - which is quite a bit. The hacking isn't what annoys me about him, though.

As for keeping up with security issues... this is a simple matter of installing all recommended updates as soon as they are released. If you don't want to do that, don't use a big, bulky cms.

I've been always telling people to have their software up-to date! The client of mine has the same problem. Some n00b kiddie used script flaw and managed to get c99shell backdoor on to the site, and then controlled every fucking account on the server. I caught it easily tho. But you always have to watch out for security, especially if you use FREE OPEN SOURCE software!
