How do you get women to sign up for dating sites?
 

I started a small dating site and its all guys signing up and no women. I have to put a couple of fake women profiles just to have some.

How can I get women to sign up?
Its all free right now so offering a free membership to women isn't necessary.

I know that nearly all "adult" dating sites have loads of fake profiles, but is the same true mainstream dating like www.ashleymadison.com or chemistry.com ?

Man I even tried paying them $50 to put up a profile!!! Since when did you know a woman who couldn't get a date? Look on Plentyoffish.com that's where the women join... look... that's the kind of women who join. Now if you have an adult dating site... forget about it, you can get phone sex operators to join.

do you have friends you could ask to join? sometimes if women see other women on there, i think they are more likely to join.........maybe

I know women that have joined a dating site, but it's been a religious type of site or eharmony or yahoo. They want to join a name they can trust, not something sleazy where you hook up for sex. When it comes to online dating it seems that guys want sex, women want relationships.

match.com has all real woman, and they arent fat turds like the sluts on plentyoffish. They advertise on myspace a ton.

If it's an adult dating site then you are lucky to get a men to women ratio of 15:1 and that's just free members. If starting a site then you either niche it, have a brand that people already trust or you buy profiles.

If the site is more generic then you won't make money from female members, they are complete sausagefests and sausagefests alone...

Your only real choice is to buy profiles or join a company that will provide you profiles of genuine members as well as a platform to work from.. (Wait, that's what i do) lol. Or struggle on and find a new untried idea that works...

Where do you buy profiles? I've been wanting to do that for a while now, but don't know where to go.
