i love phatservers!

As soon as websites you own (that pay for your family and mortgage) go down, panic is in order;)

HorseShit 08-26-2008 06:16 AM

call them?

Bojangles 08-26-2008 06:21 AM

Phatservers is awesome, but they've been having a lot of trouble lately. I notice at different times of the day my websites will go down. Their support is very quick, and they always get the problems fixed. I just hate to see that my sites are down, especially when I have traffic on the way.

Good luck with solving it

I like Phatservers. I'm just saying I've had a few problems lately as well. I'm probably going to have to upgrade my hosting package on Phatservers, too. I'm starting to use up a decent bit of disk space. :pimp

Oh, and Phatservers support kicks major ass.

Alphared is one of the worst hosts in the biz plasin and simple. The few bucks you may save on the BW pricing you lose back in downtime, and plain old aggrevation.:2 cents::2 cents:

a few bucks? 400 alphared compared to 2150 phatservers

this is my first time having problems with alphared, but yes its annoying as fuck.

Naughty 08-26-2008 07:34 AM

Okay, this is not good.

Still down, i noticed i am not getting emails either since last night, so it seems it is down for quite a while.

$$$$$$$$$$$$

ps. And to those who ask: Yes, we do have more than one server, however, this is not good to be offline this long.

There are other host out there with much better pricing (closer to alphared) but with excellent support.:2 cents::2 cents:

I've hosted with a lot of companies and all from this board, I will say that in the last 6 years not a single one has not had any issues. From a technical point I don't think any network can be 100% perfect all the time because things happen... things out of one's control. Like life.

with that said, Phatservers kicks much ass. Its not unheard of to get a reply to your support ticket before you even click send. :1orglaugh

Yes this is not good, but have you actually picked up the phone and called them?

Naughty 08-26-2008 07:38 AM

Not to mention our Adsense costs and other offline advertising methods. Does not look really well if there's errors all over the place.

dirtysouth 08-26-2008 07:44 AM

You mentioned email being an issue as well. Did you receive an email stating your support ticket had been received? If not, they probably never got your original support req. :2 cents:

Jim_Gunn 08-26-2008 07:46 AM

I just have a cheap virtual host with Phatserver and I haven't noticed any downtime.

undersoul 08-26-2008 07:49 AM

hope everything gets resolved for you asap

Oh, and Phatservers support kicks major ass.

I was having that as well a month or so back. But it wasn't PHAT that was the source of the issue.

I had member's who were password sharing, and trying to download every video off site, or hotlinking. So I installed Strong, and ThrottleBox on the main websites.

End of the issues. :thumbsup

I had that same problem two or three times. I would have to look at what they did to fix it.

It had something to do with a partition on your HD and something to do with archive of mail or quota being hit. I never use their mail, but apparently it saves or logs the shit all the same.

They cleared it out, and did something that fixed it.
