my grandpa gave me this light meter he found but i tried using it and have no idea on how to use it or mabye its broken. i fucked around with the buttons but nothing happened. i have an olympus c-4040. do i even need one of these anyways? heres a pic of it.

Is it a direct of incident light meter?

There should be settings for iso(film speed), shutter?

If you set those, and hit the big button, then FLASH your lights, it'll tell you what aperature the lights are set at. like, F8? F5.6, etc etc. Set your aperature on your lens to that, and you should have proper/decent exposure. I think. I've only had to use a light meter, like, once.

does your grandpa know that you will probably use it to shoot filthy dirty pictures of naked people?

i have no idea what kind it is, i just got the light meter and the case with no instructions. thanks for the help though.

haha nah im just taking photography class right now... i havent done any content shooting yet. i wanna learn some more shit first.

no wonder, cause it´s not a light meter at all. it´s one of those electronic deodorant devices that came out in the late 70s ...

... just rub it on your armpit, that´s how you use it.
