WEBAIR, please step in.. I got problems.

This is for support ticket - 406175.

Since Thursday night all of my sites hosted on Webair have been offline.

I have called, opened support tickets, the whole nine yards.

I was told yet again that my sites were fixed and the server (server 12) was doing ok again because you shut down the user causing the interference.

Regardless all of my sites are still ON and OFF at any given time, nothing you have done to fix the situation has worked yet.

When I called over the weekend the guy was like, "look, i just work here on the weekends dude".

Seems like nobody cares to get it fixed with priority, and it's killing my business.

My support ticket is 406175 , I've gotten like 2 responses back saying it's fixed, when it's still not fixed. So please, someone give it some attention and get it fixed.

Thank you.

pr0 08-24-2008 11:46 PM

i highly suggest you hit the online support on their site...its a little pop up window

& link them to this thread as well......sounds like one of their support guys may be getting fired over this if he really did diss you like that

Stellar 08-24-2008 11:47 PM

I didn't mean to sound rude, if so I apologize.. i'm just really frustrated.

This has been consuming my mind since Thursday night when my sites first started going offline, then online, then offline, and now online again.

Please help! I just want my sites up and not have to worry about whether or not they are online and working or not.

Thank you.

Just a little tip here but you'll always have to worry about it with shared hosting which is what I'm assuming you're using. You would be better off with a dedicated plan or get a host that offers VPS with locked resources for each user(not just ram).

Stellar 08-24-2008 11:53 PM

The guy that was off his game was the one who said "i only work here on the weekends" and that i wasn't supposed to call, he was working Fri and Saturday I believe.

i have opened a support ticket, but it's very hard to get a reply on what is going on.

The other guys working on Sunday sounded like they knew there stuff real well and were nice and understanding.

The guy also said I shouldn't be calling because my account doesn't allow me to, but after no responses to the support ticket at the time I have to call.

I emailed my account manager, because I just want someone to give a damn about my problem.. as it is very important to me.

It's really a pain when you get a response like "Your all fixed and ready to go, no more problems" and you start your campaigns.. come back 2 hours later and check and guess what, all your sites are down.

So all I have to say is, please help.

Who cares if you sound rude. Your server is down & you're losing your business.

Your lively hood is important. I wouldn't be worried about how you say something right now.

Seriously take my advice & use the online support chat window...& also call their 800 support #...let them know you posted on GFY & heads are going to roll with management (Mike & Gerard) if they don't get on it right now. MENTION MIKE & GERARD'S NAME.

Trust me, Mike & Gerard do not play....they will fire a mother fucker for being lazy/or giving a client lip service.

Webair is a solid company i have faith that if you follow the suggestions I gave you....your sites will be up asap.

Tjeezers 08-25-2008 12:03 AM

Bump for a fellow webmaster in need of some help
Hope your cases will be solved 2day!!

d-null 08-25-2008 12:05 AM

lots of choices out there, everyone can have troubles once in a while, but it is how they deal with them that matters most :2 cents:

Well.. I MUST agree with u m8 .. I have received nothing but top notch service from Gerard (TOP NOTCH) .... kinda sad how a lazy support guy can bring down the image of an entire company :Oh crap

Hopefully things will get sorted out ... do as PR0 says and get in touch with either Mike or Gerard if things continue that way...

No shit, should see the chat logs I've saved from hosts before while I was down. These were WHILE the host was responsive and being nice. My sites die I freak out. :1orglaugh

Stellar 08-25-2008 12:22 AM

Thanks for the concerns people, they are true.

I have been sitting down checking to see if my sites are online/offline for the past 4 days and it's a fucking nightmare let me tell ya.

I have never had any problems with Webair before, and I have been with them for 2 years.

At the moment my sites are up, but this has been the case many times over the weekend.. they will stay up for a few hours, and then go offline out of nowhere.

So I just want to be guaranteed everything is fixed and my sites are up to stay.

They said it was due to a user creating stability issues.. and that it was fixed in their last support ticket, but shortly after that the sites were offline again.

Before that they said "The problems should be resolved, let us know". My sites were down 30 min after that message.

and now my sites are online for the moment, but it's like the boy who cried wolf, i can't trust the sites are up to stay.. so i'm refraining from starting campaigns again, i need someone to tell me the problem has been fixed for sure, because i've turned my campaigns back on like 3 times after they said it was fixed just to come back later and see the sites are offline while my traffic was still running.

So please, i'm not looking to instigate, I just want my sites to stay online.

I'm tired of getting the "everything is ok, you should be good to go" and my sites go offline 30 minutes after that.

Please let me know something soon.

cess 08-25-2008 12:26 AM

That's how shared hosting goes. They can kill the processes of the user taking them all up. But they'll just start up again and you're sites won't work for shit. That's what happens when you share resources.

Stellar 08-25-2008 12:31 AM

they can switch me to a different server or something..

it has been literally:

OFF - ON, OFF - ON, OFF - ON since Thursday night, i'm about to shoot myself.

Just want the sites to be running with no worries.

Guy a talked to Sunday morning, who sounded like he gave a shit which was cool, said if it persist they can switch me to a server without problems. I already paid for the year :(

HomerSimpson 08-25-2008 02:03 AM

From my experience shared hosting mostly sucks at WebAir

i have multiple shared hosting accounts with different hosts and have never had an issue like this. If the servers are setup right, and they are monitored efficiently this stuff doesnt happen on shared servers.

If I have a process that is starting to use to many resources or if a database is getting to large or something of that nature. I am emailed before it gets out of hand every time by my host. I was in the hosting business for a while and there is no reason a shared server should have any more problems then a dedicated server. It is there job to make sure all sites are up all the time on all servers. Bottom line.

Stellar 08-25-2008 03:53 AM

Now all of my sites are down again.

Stellar 08-25-2008 04:02 AM

Here is the latest support ticket reply:

"Hello,

We've managed to remove the the user creating stability issues on the server.
We'll keep monitoring server for any other users causing stability issues.

Please let us know of any issues or concerns you may have."

After I read the reply, hoping that the situation really was fixed.. I go and try to load any of my sites, and guess what? OFFLINE - TIMED OUT.

This is going on 5 days now, every time they respond "it's ok" i check it out and my sites are still offline.

So, the situation continues.. all of my sites are still offline, and their last support ticket message was:

"Hello,

We've managed to remove the the user creating stability issues on the server.
We'll keep monitoring server for any other users causing stability issues.

Please let us know of any issues or concerns you may have." , yet all of my sites are still offline and not loading.

I need someone from WEBAIR to step up and fix this problem already, i'm exhausted.

.:R I O:. 08-25-2008 04:36 AM

Webair - the host will make you rude.

HorseShit 08-25-2008 05:52 AM

These threads are a joke. There is not one company in the history of gfy that had so many complaint threads. People are total fucking idiots if they still host with webair. Its that simple.

Stellar 08-25-2008 10:18 AM

Gerard,

I responded to your e-mail, but basically the GFY posts lack no details, it's all there.

Thank you for responding and pretty please make it all better, i'm utterly exhausted with the subject.

If you are missing any details, please let me know and I will hit you up on icq, but check your e-mail first.

Thanks buddy.

pornojohn 08-25-2008 10:33 AM

I moved all my stuff off their boxes/network because their hard drives kept failing.

xenigo 08-25-2008 10:42 AM

I've been with them a couple years now and I haven't had any issues with their virtual hosting. Support has been helpful when I've called, too. :2 cents:

Stellar have they fixed your problems yet? I wish you the best of luck mate:helpme

V_RocKs 08-25-2008 10:55 AM

Webair does this on purpose to get you so frustrated you get a dedicated box.

Babaganoosh 08-25-2008 10:59 AM

Webair blows. Anyone who still uses them for virtual hosting isn't very serious about their business.

SpeakEasy 08-25-2008 05:25 PM

Well what's up Stellar? are you back in biz or are you still wiped out?

Stellar 08-25-2008 07:08 PM

The sites are up at the moment, and hopefully up to stay this time guys.

I'm hoping 5th time is a charm because I have been told 4 times before things were fixed and the sites were online at the time, only to find out an hour or so later all of my sites down again.

Gerard who is very nice, and it is sad that the situation has made be be short tempered e-mailed me this:

"I have spoken with one our Technical Managers and we strongly believe the server is stable and you should not have any further issues with this."

He was a very nice fellow, but I kind of don't like the fact that I'm not hearing "it's fixed for sure, no doubt about it" instead I get "we strongly believe the server is stable and you shouldn't have anymore problems" because that is exactly what I was told before.

Hopefully everything is fixed for good, but I would still like to get a definitive answer that is was rock solid 100% fixed without a doubt.

But the sites are up at the moment, and that is where it stands.

God forbid the sites go down again and I have to re-open this thread.

They are still up.. so far since Gerard said there should be no further problem, there has been no further problem.

Again, this has been told to me before and then the sites went down.

So i'm keeping a close eye and watching it, hope webair is to.

Thanks again for the upgrade Gerard, please don't forget to mention it to Chris :)

Let me guess, youre staying with them instead of moving to a new host. And next month we can expect a thread like this again...am i right?

hope your problem will be solve the soonest possible time!

Tjeezers 08-26-2008 06:20 AM

Have no fear to switch hosting my friend
Find a new company, ask them if they can do the transfer for you
Most of the time they are willing to do this, and your nightmare experience can be forgotten about. Point is, when you stick with people who let you down many times, you need to understand the message you read between the lines.

Again, have no fear to find better :2 cents:

Stellar 08-26-2008 07:06 AM

The sites have been up ever since the last fix,

and to answer your question, no I would not open a new thread if my sites wen't down again, I would have to switch hosting in the case.

But the fact is they are finally back up rock solid, and I am fucking relieved.

Like a quivering little boy who has been whipped, boy was that an episode to not be repeated.

I really got to say thanks to everyone for the helpful post, it really did help get the situation resolved.

You bastards are the best ;)

Thanks for the help fellas, truly.
