Share your drink? How paranoid are you?

Personally I get freaked out when someone goes to grab my drink to take a sip.

The last thing I need is cold sores.

Do u think i'm being crazy?

or do the rest of you keep your drink to yourself?

It's kinda hard to tell someone that they cant have some of your drink or doobie because you don't want herpes.. They never understand. :1orglaugh

Sly 08-24-2008 08:44 PM

I think if you're worried about catching a cold from somebody taking a sip of your drink, you need better worries... :-)

After Shock Media 08-24-2008 08:47 PM

If your drink is alcohol based I would assume you are crazy as shit for thinking you may catch something.

Then again I am not that germaphobic as many. Craziest thing I do germ wise is wear plastic gloves when handling raw meat. Even then that is just because of the chair and sink issue more than anything else.

klaze 08-24-2008 08:47 PM

Sharing a beer and catching cold sores (oral herpes).

Not a cold.

Greater risk of catching something from using the door handle getting into that room than from someone taking a sip from your drink.

May I ask a question though? Do you let anyone else use your cellphone?

If you meet a really hot chick and she starts attacking you do you stop her so she can get tested for herpes first?

Evil E 08-24-2008 09:17 PM

You can get Hep A by sharing a drink if you are not immunized.

Really? Everything I have read says it's extremely easy to catch cold sores from sharing a drink etc. Recently a ton of articles came out discussing the connection between Beer Pong and Cold Sores..

In July TIME Magazine did an article on a supposed Herpes 1 cure drug tho.

Doctors refuse to test me for both forms of herpes they say the test is too inconsistent and they have to test the sore itself.. *shrug* could be a Canadian thing.

Hah.. If I could I would but usually what happens is I make out with her and then just get extremely paranoid about it after..

I try not to do anything with random chicks being paranoid has completely taken over.

Sly 08-24-2008 09:19 PM

LOL.

So do you ever touch your mouth or your eyes throughout the day? Think of everything your hand is touching. Cold sores are not the only thing you can catch, and certainly not the worst. You should get a jumbo box of rubber gloves.

Spunky 08-24-2008 09:25 PM

Germaphobe.do you shake hands?

klaze 08-24-2008 09:34 PM

I bite my nails once in a while but I wash my hands before eating and after doing something involving garbage. :P Pretty normal stuff..

I definately try to not rub my eyes.

I shake hands no problem.

The whole herpes thing just bugs me out..

MissMina 08-24-2008 09:39 PM

I'm with ya on that one. I freak if anyone grabs for or tries to drink from my cup, bottle or whatever. Yes I'm a germaphobe. Goes right a long with my OCD. Can't be helped.

L-Pink 08-24-2008 09:47 PM

I drink Wild Turkey 101 or Bookers 120 ..... not worried.

Spunky 08-24-2008 09:52 PM

Being cautious is a good thing but if you're relatively healthy you don't need to worry about it.there is so much bacteria and germs out there with everything we touch we would all be dead if our bodies couldn't fight them off

Sarah_Jayne 08-25-2008 04:48 AM

I never share drinks..and if it is alcohol then I always take the advice my dad gave me when I left for college 'never share a drink or leave it and come back to it'

Fletch XXX 08-25-2008 04:52 AM

no. i dont use public phones, dont use others phones. dont drink after others, and do not let people other than my wife drink from my glass.

i have not been sick in years and plan on keeping it that way.

i dont even like to touch things in other peoples house.

nor do i enjoy taking cash from register girls. I prefer to not even touch money, its filthy. and register girls who sneeze before they give me my money i can almost tell them to "keep it"

Fletch XXX 08-25-2008 04:54 AM

do you guys avoid check out girls at grocery stores if they are coughing or sneezing?

i do

seeandsee 08-25-2008 04:54 AM

I hate that too!!!

polish_aristocrat 08-25-2008 05:01 AM

you are paranoid to drink from the same glass as your friends, but you'll gladly accept a blowjob from a random chick from the club? :winkwink:

rowan 08-25-2008 05:07 AM

While we're on the subject of germs and touching things, something I occasionally ponder while stuck on the can.....

Before toilet paper was invented, what did people wipe with?

Did they even wipe at all?

A teacher once told me some story about Indians wiping their backside with their bare hand, so it was considered very bad manners to offer that hand to shake when meeting someone. I have no idea if it's true. :1orglaugh

brassmonkey 08-25-2008 05:23 AM

i had a indian shemale ask for a drink of my beer i said hell no! :1orglaugh i will never ride the bus again :1orglaugh

tranza 08-25-2008 06:03 AM

Hahah...I don't like to share it either!

They used rags, just like the women during menstruation.

"on the rag" :Oh crap

all hail the maxi pad

cherrylula 08-25-2008 06:19 AM

By the way, there is so much bacteria in the human mouth, they are still discovering them and trying to understand it.

Other body parts are cleaner than your mouth, as gross as it might seem. Your mouth is a rainforest of living things.

Reak AGV 08-25-2008 06:24 AM

I even bring my own toilet paper to disco's, i use napkins to hold my drink and if someone sneezes I run away 10 feet to be sure not to be in the any danger zone's. After someone touches me I go to the toilet to clean my hands and face! I would never even think about having sex with someone, imagine how gross that would be...

What about before man figured out how to weave thread into material?

rowan 08-25-2008 07:20 AM

With regards to being obsessive about germs, don't forget your immune system needs the occasional nudge in order to protect you. Until my daughter was born I hardly ever got sick, but suddenly I'm coming down with everything she does - my immune system is probably weak because I've been self employed for 12 years, and the only other human I was in extended contact for each day was my wife.

It's annoying to get sick all the time, but these sniffle episodes are strengthening both my daughter's and my own immune system....

Holly 08-25-2008 07:22 AM

I don't worry about herpes from drinks. I worry more about some dumb fuck slipping something into it.
