My dog doesn't like toys or treats.
He is over a year old now and hyper-active. he doesn't like treats or traditional dog toys...
He only likes to chew on clothes hangers. Any ideas on what I can buy for him to try something else? |
show him that the hangers are bad to chew on. does he like long skinny bones that might be around the same size as an hanger?

Have you tried Kongs yet?

Buy metal hangers.
Ok, as a dog lover, that is a bit mean, even if it is kind of funny. Some dogs have bizarre tastes, and I guess yours likes plastic. At this time, I'd look to a professional trainer for intervention - he's only a year old, but obviously you haven't taught him that he can't do this. That's where someone with a firm hand will assist. |
Buy him some close at second hand
|
then you are not buying the right toys. keep experimenting and trying different things. are the hangers plastic or metal?

How about one of those penis extenders
|
Try catnip. I know for is for cats, but try buying some and put it inside a sock. Some dogs go even crazier than cats with catnip. I did that for my dog and that is now, her only and favorite toy.

when you catch the dog chewing on a hanger, take it away say no and give the dog something he can chew on. try a kong, you put a treat in it and it will keep him busy for hours. It will click eventually. Also how long are you walking him a day? Probably a hour a day would take some of the energy out of him.

Give him wood to chew...That's what I gave to my dog after she chew my leather shoes.. darn it:(

try a hollow bone and stuff it with peanut butter...
dogs love peanut butter and it will keep them busy for hours trying to get the peanut butter that is just a little too far for their tongue to reach after they get the peanut butter they can easily reach... |
