Yeah saw most of it and I have to say despite my reservations China did an amazing job with the games! Really impressed with the whole thing, and its going to be a hard act to follow :) Good job China ... you pulled it off :)

yeah it was good. China really know how to let off some fireworks!

There is no way london will be able to match china in extravagance but we're not going to try by the sounds of it. The Commentators were saying that london will be a more intimate games.

can't wait till its here though, gonna get some tickets for sure!

riiight, using 14 year old girls as athletes (against olympic rules), arresting reporters, detaining protesters, faked lip synched child singers, stabbing, ...

there are countless news articles quetioning why we held the Olympics there and why it was a bad decision.

David Wallechinsky, vice-president of the International Society of Olympic Historians and a frequent television commentator, said the Beijing games had not lived up to the Olympic charter, which condemns "discrimination with regard to a country or a person on grounds of race, religion, politics, gender or otherwise."

"What was the goal of bringing the games to Beijing?" Wallechinsky asked. "If they wanted to bring the games to the most populous nation in the world, they succeeded.

"If they wanted to help the Communist Party issue propaganda to its own people, they succeeded. If it was to improve human rights, they failed miserably."

Well it was very very good but nowhere near as mind blowing as the opening ceremony but then you wouldnt expect it to be. The whole games in Beijing have been amazing though and you can see China is going forward in a major way.

Brilliant games, some amazing victories.... its been emotional.

The UK slot with the red bus was small scale but kind of rocking in its own way. I dunno why they chose someone as lightweight as Leona Lewis though.... maybe she was cheap? I reckon London 2012 will be amazing.

Having been to China, I know how badly slanted the western media is. I would suggest you take most of the negative shit you hear in the media as bullshit ... I know for a fact a lot of it is very selective reporting. There has been a western media crusade against China for some time, and you really should take what you see on CNN and NBC with a grain of salt.

And one of funny things was Jackie Chan singing.
