Arnt all gymnasts abused? I thought that was part of the training.
Then hell most people who want to compete at that level in anything go through some serious abuse self inflicted or by coaches regardless.

I personally do not care much about the Olympics at all. Sure I may watch something here and there. Do I care that they may spend a billion or even ten billion plus on holding them? Nah not really. I am sure there is some lasting effects for the host cities/countries, and it is better than just about anything else money is spent on when I am not given a say so on how it is spent.

I'm glad they are about done.

Watching the Mens Basketball final now and then except for closing ceremony highlights I'm done.

I still don't get why so many people say this. Why the hate? The guy dominates his sport. Anybody who dominates any sport, deserves respect.

He's won a shitload more medals than I have, he's broke a lot more world records than I have, and he's stacking up mountains of cash. :2 cents:

i didnt watch a single event or news article about the olympics, and yes, the money could be used for something other than things like olympics.

I second that... but how about replacing the Olympics with the soccer World Cup, so we have the World Cup every two years instead of every four?
