Apache running WHM/Cpanel
Hi,
We have a server running apache with whm/cpanel.... EXIM was working and grinding like a mo-fo and tying up the processor like it was a 1996 P-100. So I turned off...exim.... My question...is there a way to use just one catch-all e-mail addy? For any e-mail coming in to the server? on any of its domains/ips? THANKS GFY! |
Well, I am not familiar with cPanel, but I would suspect that they must have that feature available. Or do you have root access?
|
Yes....root access is available...
I just thought someone here has gone thru this situation before. THANKS |
In each account ( use your master pw to login ), you can set:
all unrouted emails ( such as [email protected] ) to :blackhole: This settings routes all no good mail to to garbage. Or you can set all unrouted emails to a specific email . Look into " set default address " . |
You are going to get a shit load of spam that way.

Would be nice if you would elaborate .... :1orglaugh unrouted emails to :blachole: are just discarded, not even bounced back .... So, what is your miracle settings ??? |
I wouldn't recommend using a catch all for an entire domain. You will get so much random garbage sent to you. CPanel has a feature on there called BoxTrapper that works like a whitelist. It works pretty good.

I am not only trying to use a catchall.... for 1 domain...but more like 100

Good luck not having /var, /usr/local, and CPU at 100%. |
