are top affiliates program owners?

Im not trying to stir up any drama, but Im just curious. When I see some of these programs post stats of top affiliates, it always seems there are a few who deviate a lot from the rest of the pack, cam sites for one.

Maybe Im not doing something right that Im not pulling in $50k a month from sales, but I was only curious. If I am wrong and someone wants to help me out, you can have the other half of my cheese steak sand which that I got for lunch :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

If these are program owners who are the top affiliates (cross sales, member upsells, whatever), then what are the top performing affiliate stats from those who run free sites, tgps, blogs etc? Im not looking for names btw, just curious on numbers.

You need to understand that an affiliate is not always a single person. It could be a major website with huge traffic, a company that owns several websites; an individual or partnership with numerous employees doing the "grunt work" and other specialized chores such as accounting, advertising, software management, industry networking etc; I think few of the big boys are one-man operations anymore.

i kinda figured that most of these larger affiliates were not a single person, but rather a company. But i guess what i was trying to get at, is are most of these affiliates (rather company or person) mainly other programs sending sales?

my guess would be that the top affiliates for dating sites and cam sites are programs up selling and promoting to members though the members section

I swear that sometimes the ONLY reason I would get a paysite is to prequalify surfers and crosssell them in the members area. Then my ratios would be a HELL of alot better..

I know this is one of the things that is currently being done and works well, I just don't wanna run a paysite with all the liability and whatnot...

the best way is to contact the poster and ask what those stats or list for.

i sometimes post some of our affiliates stats upon their approvals of course.

all you gotta do is ask directly and they should tell you abit more.

Only a fool starts an affiliate program without their own traffic, and a fair chunk thereof.

It is the only basis for assured success.

I would never try and just build something 100% on the backs of affiliates.

When you have your own joins, affiliate traffic is cream, and you can do more to support them.

Check the stats of sponsors if you need numbers
