 search engine listing question

ok, im just starting to read about se and how to increase traffic for specific keywords and so forth. that said
i had a craigs list ad with the title "check issuing and payment disbursement" in the title and a few sentence description. within a few days i noticed it as #4 for "check issuing" and around the same for "payment disbursement" on google. so, im an idiot, so i figured i should edit it and add some more keywords, so it would get better, did that this evening, just checked google and the listing was gone in the results for both of those terms now im sure its clear im completely new at this, and am just reading/playing around, but what happened here? dont fuck around with a good thing? |

It would of dropped off the first page no matter what you did. Your tinkering had nothing to do with it.
Craigslist is a crazy authority site and gets crawled like mad. It's not unusual for new pages to sometimes rank really well at first until the algo catches up. |

Craigslist is an authority site, but generally only the top pages are, once you start moving down into the archive pages, don't expect much of a boost anymore.

Sounds like a personalized search hit? Google likes to mess with listings when it thinks it knows what you want. Try searching from a datacenter to get personalized-free results. :2 cents:
