What's the average hit count per sale rule of thumb?
I know this is a tough one to answer... but.... maybe you can shed some light on this issue?
1 sale per 100 hits good? 1 sale per 500 hits good? etc... and, what is a good average daily hit count? 1000 hits a day minimum to survive? 5000 hits? Help me Obi Wan, You're My Only Hope. |
it's rocket science.
depends on what kind of traffic depends on what country that traffic comes from depends on what sponsor your sending it to depends on what niche you're marketing depends on what kind of site your sending from depends on how you're marketing the product depends on what the product is using for billing as well as tracking depends on other things too. |
There is no "rule of thumb", since everyone's traffic is different. For some sources 1:50 is awful, while others 1:5000 is amazing. Too many factors go into sales ratios, and it's always on a case by case basic.
For example, I could send 50k junk uniques a day that would NEVER buy a membership. That would certainly fuck the overall sales ratio of any small paysite. |
Yikes! Now I'm really dizzy! So many factors.

That really depends on what you are trying to convert. Numbers are different for VOD than they are for trials or memberships. Your conversion ratio's will vary based on where the traffic comes from. I have affiliates that convert 1:4000, and other affiliates that convert at 1:16. Getting a bunch of teen traffic to your granny site has a less likely chance of converting than getting your target audience there will.

first glance of reading the thread title, I thought you were asking "how much traffic do I need to my thumb gallery site per sale?"
