US health insurance companies to go with?
Ive been trying to find some health insurance for my gf, but wanted to see if anyone had a good place to go with.
she is scared of going with no name places and talked to someone at bluecross. the plan is $160 a month for medical and covers 90% (up to $90) for office visits, $10 generic and $20 name brand drugs (after $100 deductible on name brand) and $500 medical deductible. my plan is like $100 or so a month but I think im going to switch. i never go to the doctor or take meds, but she does pretty frequently so I wanted to get something for her that covers prescripts (including bc :winkwink:) anyway, i told her that dental and vision insurance is a waste because its like $80 a month for dental and $50 for vision and a dentist cleaning is like $250 every six months... thoughts? |
go with bluecross they are good

btw how did you get 100$ health insurance?

they have other ones that are $70 a month and dont cover as much prescriptions which ill probably get. however, hers for $160 seems a bit high, but i guess hers also includes the vag doctor :winkwink: |
Humana all the way.

I spend close to $600 / month on Blue cross to insure my family.
And my claims get rejected all the time. Go with someone else. |

Whomever you choose, make sure you understand the coverages!!! Way too many loop holes and shades of gray in health insurance policies! Best of Luck!

United Health is the best. They are somewhat evil, in that they offer you a really cheap plan, less then anyone else, but it doesn't cover crap. When you go in, ask them for the best plan available the one that covers everything, and then work yourself down.
I have the best plan, and just recently had to fight it our with them for a claim. They are good if you Pay their higher premium, but at the same time they are EVIL! and will deny your claims. One thing you should look into if you are near an old age community is for one of these local HMO plans. I got my 21 year old sister into an HMO that works with old folks and she has everything covered for a tiny payment. These HMO's milk Social Security, so when they see someone young, they assume you will knever get sick. She was the first pregnancy that they paid out! :) They paid for everything, even though they had to refer her to a Hospital and couldn't take care of her at the HMO. |
