Getting to W Hotel in atlanta from the airport.

Do they have shuttle from the airport or cab is the only option?

SweetT 08-21-2008 06:21 AM

You can hop the Marta train directly at the airport and stay on the same train until it reaches Perimeter Center Station and the hotel has a free shuttle to there. Total cost $1.20.

A cab is pretty expensive from the airport, but we are in the process of finalizing a deal with a limo company to offer the trip for about the same price as a cab. We should be posting something about in the coming weeks if you are interested.

Sounds good, I'll be waiting to learn more!

raven1083 08-21-2008 06:47 AM

cab is more expensive from the air port

AdultB2B 08-21-2008 02:32 PM

I was told that a cab is about 60 bucks. There's a shuttle called the Go Shuttle that's 22 bucks. The other option is Marta and the hotel shuttle.

Or I can rent a car. I found $11/day deal on hotwire.com

In a car, it's north on 75/85 to the 385 onramp, then go east on the perimeter road to the first exit and jump off at the perimeter mall exit.

Believe it or not, I just remember that from having lived there more than 4 years ago. ;-)

Unfortunately you have to take the worst Metro system in the world: MARTA

From the Airport take the "North Springs" Train and get off at the "Dunwoody" stop.

I don't think I will be taking rail.

The Dunwoody stop is right in front of the W and by the mall. Atlanta's cabs smell like Garlic.

How long of a ride is it? Do they come by frequently, or will I have to wait an hour if I just miss one? Any transfers, or stay on the one?

MandyBlake 08-21-2008 04:11 PM

How long does it take? How frequently do the trains leave?

I'd call the W to see how much it cost to park there though. I have been places that parking was $50 a day.

It is about 30 minutes from the airport (which is the extreme southern point of the rail system) to Dunwoody (which is almost the extreme northern point)

During normal hours it is every 10 minutes. Off hours it is 15-20 minutes.

I admit that Marta is not the best system in the world...however, the rail system is just as good as anywhere. If it involved getting on a bus I would not recommend it, but the rail system is fine.

It does, thanks. I am guessing that driving would take as long, if not longer.
