This forum's member base seems to made up of mainly 30 - 45 yearolds.

the 28 might even be stretching the upper average too, for some boards

and it would be safe to say that many of them are over 50% living in India

and it would be safe to say that 90% of them would be really excited to make $10 a month on the internet and if someone posted that they had their first $10 month, another dozen of them would post congrats and ask for advice on how they did it :1orglaugh

and it is a pretty true generalization that almost all of them don't know or care about copyright

I ended up not going. Got a late start, then played good Samaritan out in the desert. By the time that was done it was going to be too late for 225 more miles.

I can't even post on regular boards, anymore.

Usually within a day or two I call someone a cunt and then get banned. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm doing it. It just slips out.

I've only found 1-2 mainstream boards I enjoy. It really has to be a focused common point of interest. Lots of drama and meltdowns tho, people are nuts!

i spent some time awhile back hangin out at a harley forum.

the comments there almost made me want to sell my hog, so much whining and people spelling shit chit or asshole a$$hole.

not to mention the mods had serious mod power egos

i think the group dynamics on all forums are basically identical. same personalities, similar ratios of idiots to wise people... they all have a Pimpdog and Amp or two... similar ranting, pissing, do-gooders etc etc etc

very few are places where people stay on topic and have intelligent conversations.

There are some boards, mainstream and adult online, that vary where you have more of the vets and less bullshit. Typically those are run with an iron fist.

DP is a good example where you have the regime keeping things in line. People can report countless things, and they are pretty good are monitoring it. I too got a temp ban in the beginning, but it's just a matter of figuring out the dynamics.

That said, you have a LOT more fucking clueless idiots on some of these boards, and a SHITLOAD more scams, and scammers. I mean, some of these boards are probably a good 1/4 easily scams. Half clueless idiots, and then you have a top tier of people who have...

1. Been around more than 6 months.
2. Make more than $50.00 a month.
3. Own REAL websites.
4. Are doing this full time.

99% of mainstream board persona are not in online full time. Right there is a red flag to me.

I met the head mod of one board at a recent mainstream show. They initiated conversation with me so I let them know why I don't post there. She came back with an investigation that showed my history. The first time I registered there I lasted an hour and 20 minutes.

That is the primary issue . . . and any board that needs 47 mods has built in problems.

i think there are a lot of factors and its often a question of degree.

i think that most large boards are very similar. of course smaller boards and boards that are heavily modded can be different and small boards with cliques of friends are different. but my experience is that in general, big forums with an assload of users tend to be the same... tend to be full of the same types of personalities, similar breakdowns in group dynamics and same useless crap, dumb people, dumb discussions, spam etc etc.

I've been banned from more mainstream forums than I can count. I really like GFY where you can say what you want (it seems).

DP's banning anyone who talks anything other than positive shit about Shawn, who's being sued by Ebay for cookie stuffing.

As a side note - don't think other adult boards are that great either. It is not allowed to say that you don't like any of their over photoshopped models or else you're gonna get bashed and banned. It's not just mainstream, it's other adult boards too.
