50 dead in Spanish airline crash - Breaking News
 

MADRID, Spain (CNN) -- An aircraft heading to the Canary Islands crashed on take off at a Madrid airport Wednesday killing some of those on board, officials said.
A file photograph shows a Spanair aircraft.


Spain's two leading newspapers are reporting at least 25 people were killed in the incident, but CNN could not independently confirm those figures........

About 30% of the car accident fatalities can be attributed to driving above the speed limits and 33% and above because of reckless driving that causes the car to go off the road and result in an accident.

The majority of car accident victims are the drivers, then the passengers of the car, followed by pedestrians, and lastly cyclists.

Every 12 minutes, one person dies because of a car accident. Every 14 seconds, a car accident results in an injured victim.

Plane crashes are terrible of course but that many people die every day in auto accidents and everyone just goes about their business as if nothing is happening.

it is all relative. there are many more people traveling in cars everyday than there are people on airplanes. When there is a car crash 50 or more people do not die!

It is also human nature not to be as scared with 4 wheels on the ground as opposed to being in the air, not in control, and almost certain death if you crash.

i have flown spanair before, seemed like a very reliable airline, they are run and owned by scandinavian airlines (SAS).
