Wi-Fi Tweaks speed up my Wifi ALOT!

I was reading this article on Wi-Fi tweaks, and did 2 of them. I set my transmission rate to 54mbps (instead of auto), and set my type to G-only (instead of mixed) since I don't have any wireless B items. My laptop is blazing fast now!

If anyone wants to read it:

interesting, buy maybe old school cable still the best solution :)

yeah i did something like this with my linksys 54g

The tweak could tune up the radio transmitter to 200% :-) not that it was stable at 200 but at 180 or so it was fine.. and i had internet all over my house.. great tweak..

Next, adjust the router to operate at full power. Many routers come with it set to 75% or -- worse -- to automatically adjust. I've found it's much better to just blast as much signal as you can.

How do I do this? I have a dlink router

These days, on most routers it's no longer possible...
